Best method for cutting stainless steel?

The work hardening happens very fast. The heat buildup is what happens as a result of hardening when the drill bit spins an kind of mushes the metal around instead of cutting it.This can be in one revolution of the bit. If you catch it fast enough you can change bits and drill through a little...

    Moonshiners on Discovery Channel

Not likely. There are all kinds of requirements for the distillng site alone that would rule out a creek bottom right away.

    Moonshiners on Discovery Channel

Hate the fake drama in these shows. Would much prefer a standard documentary format. Notice how he was careful not to add all the ingredients to the fermenter. So he hasn't made a mash yet. I will be interested to see how they handle the actual run of the still.

    co2 keeps spiking!!!

The beer is providing the pressure. Purge the keg with the pressure set low and it will creep up to the carb level of the beer. Purge a few times to lower the carb level. My regulator will creep up 2 or three psi. I just set it to account for this.

    energizer cider

It just keeps going. I had a gallon of cider that noone was drinking so i decided to pitch some yeast in it and see what happens. It was only about 1.040 on my refracrometer so i added a loose cup of brown sugar witch brought it up to about 1.054. and a put it in a glass jug with an airlock. I...

Replacing a burner with an electric element

That looks like it would do the trick nicely. I just took a psr25 and an outdoor aluminum gangbox and mounted the psr25 to the side. I sanded the paint off the inside where the ssr mounted and the outside where i mounted an old cpu heatsink. I put the pot and a switch in a blank cover. I want...

These aren't electric stove controls the op just wants it to act like one.

Replacing a burner with an electric element

I just converted my keggle to electric using this ssr. Its got a control circuit built in. You just need a potentiometer heatsink and a box to put it in and you have exactly what you describe. http://www.newark.com/united-automation/psr-25/power-control-module/dp/97K7822 I have only heated...

What to do with this keg?

My last batch I fermented in a bunked and the only thing is you can't see what's going on in it, I didn't really miss it, but I use the pitch and forget for 3 weeks method of fermenting anyway. If it's not blowing out the blowoff tube then I don't mess with it at all for 3 weeks

What to do with this keg?

If you wedge something down on the seal that surrounds the ball it will let pressure out without spraying bad beer everywhere. Put pressure down on the outside edge of that seal and it will move down, it's spring loaded like the ball.

    Kegging bloody Marys???

I just kegged about 3 gallons of margarita. I think I need to sweeten it a little to counter the co2 bite. Watch out for foam!

    Kegging bloody Marys???

I know it will change the flavor. But it seems to me that it might be interesting if it had just a little co2 bite to it. It should flow ok as long as there are no big chunks.

    homebrewing costs

This is the way I explained to the people who ask if it's cheaper. If you drink $12 a case beer then it is definitely not cheaper but once you start drinking good beer that starts getting up to two and three dollars a bottle then you can make beer that is just as good and way cheaper.
