    Equipment Calibration

After checking and double checking I was off one cup per gallon which was 2-1/2 quarts per 5 gallon batch. That's a lot. My scale for grain was only off about an oz at the 10 pound mark. It pays to start with the basics.

    Equipment Calibration

Hey all. It's been a while since my last post, I'm more of a reader than a poster, but this weekend something happened that I thought I would pass on and hopefully save someone else some headaches. I bought a new fermenter (plastic bucket type) and it had the gallons marked on the side...

recommendations for "entry level" gas grills...

I'm a charcoal guy, but 8 years ago I won an elcheapo Fiesta gas grill that has held up well. The only thing I do is replace the burner about every 3 years with a generic one from Wally World. I would recomend if your going to spend the bucks on a grill you'll also want to spend the bucks on...

Been there done that. Call the cops, call the cops, call the cops.. They'll get the message and move out.

    Headless brew.....

If you use a dishwasher with rinse aid, the rinse aid will kill a head on any beer. After 2-3 beers you start getting a nice head in the same glass then that's the culprit.

2 and 3 roller grain mills

I used a Corona for years before breaking down and buying a 2 roll mill and to tell you the truth I wish I would of kept my money. I've played with the gap and the speed at witch I mill and it's really no better than my Corona. I'm not going to say the name of the 2 roll other than to say...

Keep it clean - I'll try

The grease thing isn't going to hurt the animal and if he kept it tied up there wouldn't be a problem. Tell you what else I did last fall. They where gone and they had left their side door wide open and the dog was in and out all day, came in my garage while I was in there, scratched at...

Keep it clean - I'll try

Well I'm not about to shoot the dog in anyway, but last night after a few brews I had an idea. Can you guess what it was? OK I'll share it with you all. I decided to use the dog to teach the owner a lesson. I took several months worth of kitchen grease that we pour into an old coffee...

Keep it clean - I'll try

I have a neighbor that can't seem to keep his dog (Boxer) at home in town. The Blanking dog Craps in my yard and I've stepped in it, it digs in my garden and I'm about feed up with it. I've walked over and was very nice as could be and asked him to keep his dog in his yard. So is it time...

    Gas!

It's been a long time in coming and our goverment and the American people better get things figured out fast or we will be a 3rd world country. If we can win the big one, put a man on the moon and defeat communism we can do this also.

    Gas!

From what I understand it has more to do with the weak dollar than supply and demand. The weaker the economy gets the weaker the dollar gets the more money is being pulled out of the stock market and put into black gold which is paying a higher rate of return than gold gold. And even...

Long, long time ago that was my first capper and after many broken bottles I threw it out never to be seen again, until you posted that photo:eek:. Now I'll have nightmares.

    How good are your lagers?

I remember drinking some old Germans homebrew in Bamberg. He was my buddy's landlord. It was in a small wooded keg the beer was dark ,no head and had floaties. The first 1/2 liter was rough but after that they went down smooth. I don't think it was a pilsner. :D

    How good are your lagers?

If I may brag alittle, mine are spot on. I've spent years brewing pilsners and trying to get them right. What I discovered was, keep it simple and use proven brewing methods. Here's my house beer that I try to keep in stock. I call it Memory's, because it takes me back to my days in W...

After seeing the relief valve was rated at 375, it had more pressure than I cared to mess with. Thanks
