You could cut a 45 or whatever angle your last course is, into the back side of the arch. That would give you a flat surface on which to lay the brick. You'd probably have to cut them a bit taller to match the rest.

It-s not too late. Plus it really comes in handy on the upper courses where the bricks are on such a steep angle.

I had the same problem when I built mine, though it was pretty minor, but I'm not sure why. I suspect it may have been caused when I had to lay two bricks in a straight line on each side of the arch to tie it together. Once I cleared the arch it pretty much fixed itself. Are you using a guide...

That looks pretty good. I was wondering if it may have burnt some, given the thermal conductivity of steel. Nice job.

Looks good. At some point you'll find it necessary to not only angle the bricks front to back, but also bottom to top, the bottom being wider. It's not too bad on the lower courses but gets more exaggerated the higher you go.

Oh, I just you'd like to see my backyard pizza oven. I finally finished hanging the cast iron trim, which dates back to the civil war era. The icicle lights add a nice touch during those late evening pizza parties, bitch.:ban:

Mine took almost two years (summers)to complete. The first got it functional and the second got it pretty.
