    Brew Boss Systems

Wow he needs to update his FAQs, I was just on their reading today and it still says this. " Q. Will your software work on my iPad, mac or pc? A. The current application is written for Android tablets only as it is a very open source friendly environment. We include a 7" Android tablet with...

    Brew Boss Systems

In the FAQ he says that they've looked at it but iOS has some major barriers to allowing them to develop for it. They made it for Android because it's an open development system. They recommend using an emulator if you have to be on iOS. Sorry. The 7" Samsung Android Galaxy tab 4 can be had...

    What temperature is right again?

Excellent again. Thank you. I'll be carbonating upstairs for quick results. Is about 15 days right for carbonation? Then I assume bottle condition in the basement? I have my first thermostat done for my swamp cooler and my second just needs it's power wire installed. That will keep my...

    What temperature is right again?

Hey uniondr and others, So after my beer is done fermenting and ready to be bottled, how warm is too warm to let it carbonate? My house can get as high as 80 during the day but the basement air is still 66 right now. Is 71-80F during the afternoon too much for it to carbonate? If I do it...

    What temperature is right again?

Thanks kombat, No just boiling the 4 cups of water and then placing the HME into it. What I was talking about was a comment by another member that they didn't boil their water prior to re-hydrating the yeast. I was commenting that my brews were using spring water that wasn't boiled prior to...

    What temperature is right again?

Hi Uniondr, Was this to me or another reply? The swamp cooler has done that the end result according to my 2 floating thermometers is that the water in the swamp cooler is down to 66F. It's a fairly large mass of water so I'm assuming the wort is close to that. Fermentation slowed noticeable...

    What temperature is right again?

Thanks. I should have said plastic not glass. I'm using plastic now and have heard enough problems with glass. I don't even know why I typed that. The next large fermenter I get will likely be stainless. For now I'm using 4 gallon plastic water bottles. I've had no problem lugging...

    What temperature is right again?

Debates like this are the reason why I was just following Mr. Beer's directions. While fully acknowledging that they are less than ideally using their yeast. ;) I'm thinking that since I use spring water to dilute my boiled HME(wort) back to 2 gallons+2 cups, that it might be just...

    What temperature is right again?

:D LOL! Well I'm 6' 5" and built like a line backer so I'd say all the way out but point taken. LOL! :mug:

    What temperature is right again?

LOL! *Tongue in check with a big, big smile* :D Ok, ok, you've convinced me... along with everyone else who understands yeast far better than I. :o I understand that Mr. Beer's instructions are only intended for a beginner and not really a good practice. Even with their custom ale yeast as you...

    What temperature is right again?

So the Coopers ale yeast sounds like 68F would be good. Is that roughly a good temperature for most ale brews? I know some other brews like less. But for these beginner Mr. Beer brews most all use that same yeast. I know traditional loggers can require 50F. I'm setting up my swamp cooler now.

    What temperature is right again?

Ok now I feel relatively silly. Using a larger mass of water makes so much sense and it's simple. On top of that I already have all the things to make that happen including an aquarium heater of large size. I'm going to give that a try. I assume using distilled water with starsan and it would...

    What temperature is right again?

I'm actually using recyclable 4 gallon plastic water bottles with bungs and air locks. I sanitize with Starsan as per multiple discussions on here. I use my fermenters one time and them toss them in the recycling and start with a fresh one. I use my LBK for bottling now, it's handy to siphon...

    What temperature is right again?

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the advice. Especially knowing that this is likely an often asked question for beginners. The Mr. Beer(Coopers) site says the following on the common yeast they use: "Our dry brewing yeast is a hardy, flocculent, and temperature robust yeast. When...

    What temperature is right again?

Hello everyone, I've been reading a lot of different posts about temperature and other information on the Internet. Overall it has left me more than a little confused at how to know what the ideal external temperature is for a particular brew. Being a beginner I am starting with HMEs and slowly...
