    Quick HElp needed on Fermentation

    OK here is a quickie. I started my IIPA last Saturday and it took off on Sunday. The propblem is I still have a lot of air coming out from the airlock. However I need to leave town for the week so I would not be able to rack to the secondary. WIll this be ok? Tom

    That is the only shop with in 2 hours from me one way. It is a sad sad day! I don't think I do well enough with the rollong pin. It looks far more cracked after going through a miller than rolling a pin over it in a plastic bag.

    OK so yesterday I go and get 14lbs of grain and they will mill it for free. The miller breaks after the first 1/2 so now I have 13.5lbs to mill at home.     How long does slurry last?

    I did not make a starter. When I took it out of the fridge to warm up, with in 30 min I had a bubble in the plastic wrap. I put it into my wort and it started right off. Worked like a charm!

    Ok pretty straight forward question here. I have some slurry sitting in the fridge. It has been in a mason jar with plastic wrap on the top. I used a rubberband to hold it on. How long will the slurry last? It has been in there at least 6 weeks. Thanks for all the help!! Happy brewing. Tom

    Stupid question but I have 2 small 5lb CO2 tanks that fit in my kegarator great. Both are empty and I have a full 20lb tank. How can I transfer the gas from the 20lbs to the 5lb tanks.     Thank you Bike N Brew. I will remove the keg from the fridge today. As far as the carbonation goes I did have it at about 30psi for a couple of weeks. It was a constant 30psi because it was hooked to the regulator. I know now that I should hit it with 30 psi and then UNHOOK it from the regulator...

    I feel your pain. I have a batch of Magic Hat #9 clone and I kegged it. I think the keg could have been a little cleaner but I WAY over carbonated it and now it comes out a nice foam. When it settles the beer is very nice except for the fact that it tastes like butter. YUCK. Oh well back to the lab.
