Need advice on using candy corn in a halloween beer.

I misworded myself. The base flavor will be pumpkin, it will be the most prominent flavor. I am just running down a list of "Halloween flavors" that could separate what I'm doing from what every other person is doing. I spend most of my free time trying to take traditional ales and turn them...

Need advice on using candy corn in a halloween beer.

I am about to start working on a Halloween beer, and I'm planning on using candy corn as a basis flavor. I was just wondering if anyone has ever used candy corn in their beer, and if so how did you add it? Will it melt/dissolve down if added to the boil or should I melt it first, then add the...

RIMS System for BIAB Mash Temperature Control

Understandable. Still this will serve as hugely inspirational to my new system. SWMBO and I just bought a house with a medium sized room in an unfinished (finishing it now) basement. I'm wanting to avoid gas as ill have to run specific lines for it, and she has given me the okay-go to get pretty...

RIMS System for BIAB Mash Temperature Control

Brewing porn, here. This is exactly what I'm wanting to do. Could you give a rough guess on total cost of everything included?

Keezer help - how to convert questions

My wife and I just bought a house, lucky for us it came with an older Frigidaire Food Freezer 203 chest freezer. Even better, it works like a charm. We're finishing the basement as I speak, and I will be integrating a bar using the freezer into the great room alongside my brew-room. I am...

    not fermenting?

While advice may still be needed from someone with a bit more experience than me, I can offer this: Your temp at pitching time mayve been a tad high, but not that bad....I frequently add between 70 and 75. As far as not much action, fermentation can take a while to start. As well, sometimes...

So...How's this for a rookie Fck up?

No one has said it so I will. RDWHAHB. There's nothing to worry about, in a few weeks you'll have a great tasting, wonderful batch of beer to drink and you'll laugh the glass away!

How do you use ur bottling bucket

+1 I, fortunately didn't have to trim mine at all. Removed the sticker and cleaned/boiled it. Clean it thoroughly after every use. Best $0.39 I've ever spent! I get all but a tiny tiny bit and honestly, my buddy and I tip that into a glass and have a sip a piece just for the enjoyment. Haha

    Possible to ferment too long?

This is just my third batch, and while I'm certainly more confident now than before, I wanted to make sure I wasn't in for a sour beer. Temps have been 64-68°f the whole time. I don't have a chamber but I do have a very steady basement with a temp recorder I got when my work thought it was...

    Possible to ferment too long?

So I did a Belgian blonde on Big Brew Day, I have been constantly busy ever since (SWMBO and I are buying a house) so it is still in the fermenter. I've been at FG for a bit now, but now we are headed out of town for the weekend so it will probably be next weekend before I can finally bottle, I...

BIAB Centennial Blonde with a 23 quart vessel?

Just did exactly this on Saturday. Gonna be totally honest I totally winged everything. I suppose that's a bit crazy or something but that's what I do. I took my own little notes on the process, so I can replicate if its good, or adjust if its decent to horrible. Either way my friends and I will...

    Big Brew

I brewed a 5 gallon Belgian blonde. Had a couple buddies over to help. It was my first BIAB, went surprisingly well. It was a lot of fun knowing there were hundreds, thousands possibly brewing at the same time. Can't wait to participate again next year. Though hopefully it will take place at the...

    Good Brown Ale

After waiting 4 years to try a Dogfish Head brew, I finally got my hands on a 6 pack of Indian Brown Ale. Not particularly traditional, but IMO, amazing. Between that and Ska Brewing's Buster Nut Brown ale, I am falling in love with the style. Can't wait to dive in even deeper.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Still a bit new to the hobby so not sure if it makes a huge difference but should I use pellets, leaf, or whole hops?
