Why should I start brewing again after over a year?

It's not exactly baking, but you could work with her on making candi sugar for your Belgian beers. Or you could bond over making spent grain bread and other spent grain items after the brew :)

It must have gotten lost in IT space since I never got it, but I have it now. As soon as we figure out the cost of the last two grains I will get my portion paid. Do you have e-mails for everyone on the splits, or do we just PM them with our paypal ID? (Sorry for the question if I missed that...

Sent a PM to you...was there an e-mail we were supposed to get from Stonebrewer last night, or just some people? (Wanted to make sure I didn't miss the email with the amounts due...) As soon as I get that link from you I will pay it. I will PM amounts due on the DME once I get confirmation on...

    Schlafly Oktoberfest

Ok, the beer did not remind me of Oktoberfest....but for some reason I am hung up on the sugary essence left in the mouth from this beer. Kind of reminded me of PEZ candy. The beer itself was kind of boring, but the aftertaste just stuck with me on this one. Anyone know how they got this...

    Female Home brewer's Club

That's awesome! (Although I'm thinking hubby had an ulterior motive in his suggestion of the hobby :D ) I live in Stafford, VA. Single mom of two kids, so trying to find brew time is a bit tough, but I have some awesome friends and my best friend went in on it as a partner with me so it makes...

I'm thinking it wasn't dismissing them per se, just the name :)

    Female Home brewer's Club

I'm with ya on the name. Nothing I hate more in my industry than to see the chick walk on our site with pink construction boots or heaven forbid, the hot pink hard hat. :smack: Nothing against the color per se, just can't stand the stereo-type that comes with it. I will fully admit...

My machine is capable of stopping suction when you want, so as long as we are careful I think we can make it work and just not over suck. I will let ya know this week, as I am going to try to seal what I have on hand. That stuff is a PITA to handle. Everything is always so damn sticky after...

How old are you? How long have you been brewing?

30...been brewing for about 3 months. Have two batches on the keg and 4 more fermenting. This hobby is AWESOME!

I'm sorry sir you've had too much...

When I was younger and stupider I wish the bar would have cut me off sometimes. Luckily I wasn't stupid enough to drive and would either take a cab or get a ride the 3 blocks it is to my house...but I paid for the drinking with some nasty hangovers and a few embarassing stories. Bar tender was...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I wanted to brew today....instead have to supervise for 12 hours at work..ugh. This sunday work is cutting into valuable brew time, but the OT is paying for this expensive hobby.

I have a food saver...if everyone on the DME split is willing to toss in a buck or two towards the bags we could use that. (Or if they want to bring their own..) Not sure how that will work out, but I'm thinking I am going to use the food saver on mine at least when I get home if nothing else...

I agree! I can't stand people that just sit around and wonder why it's taking so long...."get off your A$$!" lol. And that is awesome on the bricklaying! I loved it, and it was great money as a 17 year old. (I think I made more money than any of the kids my age). Still miss it, but not the...

How old are you? How long have you been brewing?

Maybe the 17 year old brews with his parents? I mean, my 10 year old brews with me...she doesn't get to drink it, but she helps. By the time she is 17 she will be an expert brewer (if I can still get her to hang out with me at 17...I hear parents become "uncool" at that age....)

    Female Home brewer's Club

I find that less women drink beer for a variety of reasons, namely weight. (At least among my friends.) It seems though that most of my friends/and their friends or sig. others that are female turn down my beer in place of a "light" option or liquor. Damn fools don't know what they are...

Shutdown means no new beer from craft brewers

I slugged into DC today with a guy that works for the group that does all this approving. He was talking about how pissed off the brewers are and how much of a backlog they are going to have when they do open back up since the site is down while they are closed. He seemed to feel pretty bad...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Going to brew 2 sunday. Still trying to figure it out so I can get the supplies today and start my starters. Thinking Lagunitas Brown Shugga. Also considering a Belgian Double....but not sure yet. So many choices and only so much space and time!

    Glassware

I have over 100 glasses from various breweries. It helps that two of our local bars have "steal the glass" night where they feature a micro brew and have the matching glass you can take home. I'm actually at the point I am out of glassware space. Biggest issue with all the nice glasses, is...

If it helps I can take up to 18.33 (a portion of a 3 way split) of the last 2 splits...I don't want more than that, but maybe it will help get us there...
