    American IPA Coconut IPA

Thanks AkTom, very much appreciated! I'm going to give this one a try. Thank you for taking the time to type that in, again, much appreciated.

How do you add coconut flavor to brew?

This sounds really interesting to me. Could you post your recipe for the coconut IPA? I'd love to give it a try!

    Grainfather!!

You indeed may be creating a problem if you boil off a half gallon an hour without ventilation on a regular basis. I, however, never said I don't use ventilation.

    Grainfather!!

Definitely not as vigorous as propane, but vigorous enough to get the job done. My boil off rate is only 0.528 gallon per hour.

Looking to upgrade from glass carboy for fermentation

I've used all of the standard vessels as fermentors (buckets, carboys, big mouth bubblers, Speidels, etc), but am happy to now use SS kegs, conicals, and two BMB buckets. But that's not the reason for my post. Here's a link to the best wine thief I've found...

    Official Broken Carboy Count.

I broke one in 1994 while crash cooling a porter. Pulled it out of my fridge, and the bottom half separated from it and put several gashes in my hand and leg which sent me to the ER for stitches. Oh, and to add insult to injury...I was brewing in my upstairs kitchen that had hardwood floors and...

So you want to use a commercial keg for fermenting huh?

StoneBrewer, How are you getting the corny lid to seal well? I just started a 5 gallon batch in a 10 gallon corny and can't get the lid to seal enough to build up any pressure with my spunding valve... Jay, I too would be interested in info on connecting a spunding valve to the Sanke...

Looking for 10 gallon ball lock keg

I recently bought two from here: http://www.cornykeg.com/product-category/keg-it/kegs/new-cornelius-kegs/cornelius-kegs-large-new/

I've been eyeing some things on your site after getting the two yeast collection TC fittings, I'm in! :-)

    Conical Fermenter

Spike, Are you guys doing anything to allow for hooking up to a glycol system with your new release? I'd love a 14 gallon conical that had either a jacket or cooling coils that would also allow for doing 5 gallon batches in...the ssBrewtechs have the coils located high enough that you only...

    Conical Fermenter

The brew bucket doesn't have a trub/yeast dump port and the Stout does. The Stout also uses TC fittings. There's really no comparison here. If those two are your choices, get the Stout. I have two brew buckets, and just ordered the BME Chronical from ssBrewtech. I like my brew buckets, but...

Help me choose a conical - Morebeer 14 gallon or SsBrewtech BME Chronical.

Thanks all for your input. I ended up going with the ssBrewtech BME Chronical with all of the bells and whistles (blow off cane, CIP with TC fitting, FTS temp control, pressurized racking setup, SS stone on TC fitting (from MoreBeer)). The primary reason I chose this one is temp control. I...

Help me choose a conical - Morebeer 14 gallon or SsBrewtech BME Chronical.

Thanks, that was a great contrast and comparison! I'll give Spike a look, but I'm not sure I can wait that long. I appreciate your response!

Help me choose a conical - Morebeer 14 gallon or SsBrewtech BME Chronical.

I'm trying to choose between these two and am looking for advice/opinions on why one is better than the other. Also, does anyone know if the Jaybird yeast harvester from NorCal Brewing Solutions will fit on either one of these without leg extensions? I'm mostly doing 5 gallon batches, but...

    Picobrew + BrewPi Set up

Nope, no changes at all. I use BeerSmith, but ultimately use the online recipe crafter to determine starting water volume, etc. I've got batches fermenting in both, and will be converting the mini over to ball lock fittings as soon as I keg this batch.

    Picobrew + BrewPi Set up

Looks good. I did the same thing, except I use the 7 gallon brew bucket instead of the keg. My hands are too big to fit into a keg opening, so this is so much better. I've got a brew bucket mini I'll be converting too. You can also add keg posts to the Zymatic with some fittings and be able...

    My Picobrew Thread

The lids on my hop cages fit fairly snugly. I can't imagine they would ever come off or need any extra gasket to hold them in place. I wonder if that's on the early release units. Also, I'm just going to throw this out there even though it has nothing to do with the current topic. On the...

Will this cheap 3500 watt induction burner work?

Nice. What was your boil volume?

    My Picobrew Thread

I do not think it's been addressed other than not to use PBW. I can't imagine that the hop baskets would have any issues with PBW...it would be really interesting if someone priced out a SS step filter. I'd buy one for sure...well, if the weren't too expensive relative to the machine cost.
