What I did for beer today

Brewed my first small batch BIAB. Wanted to find a way to make beers when I don't want a full 5 gallons or deal with my 3 vessel system. Made a 1.101 RIS, with a big grain bill it was nice to do it on a small scale for cost and the fact I will drink them slow.

    14# pumkin ale?

I would make a spice tea and add it to your keg/bucket. Add a little at a time and sample it till you get the flavor you are looking for. Just a cup of hot watter and a tsp or two of pumpkin pie spice should do it.

So, who's going to GABF next weekend?

Going Thurs and Sat members session but I live in Denver. It is the best week of the year with GABF and 300+ events as a part of Denver beer week which started Wed night.

What got you started in brewing?

I know now that it was very flawed but Alton Brown's Good Eats is what got me going. Got my first kit for my 21st bday because I saw him brew and I thought it was so cool. He had always inspired me to try new things. Just so happens this one really stuck. Seven years later here I am.

    Fort Collins/Denver Homebrewers.

You must go to Falling Rock Tap House for great selection. Euclid hall for great food and beer. Also if you like sour/brett beers check out crooked stave.

Homebrew on a pro system for a fee.

Im sure there are laws about taking it home but I would hope some free growlers or a 5 gal keg for brewing there would be part of it.

Homebrew on a pro system for a fee.

Just found this on the denver post blog. Interesting idea. Would you want to try it? http://blogs.denverpost.com/beer/2013/07/08/brew-your-own-beer-with-pro-equipment/10778/#more-10778 Might be a good idea to see what brewing on a pro system looks like.

Spike Homebrewing Kettle- 15 gallon custom kettle

Did you build the HERMS coil or did you order it. Love the kettle but I would need to figure out the coil.

    Stir Starter

Ordered it Thursday night and it got to Colorado today, man that was fast shipping, I could not be happier with the quality and the fit and finish. It is working on my Irish ale yeast right now and seems to be running well. Dan was quick and this is maybe one of the best investments I have made...

    Heading to Denver!

Falling rock tap house is great, tons of west coast beers. It is the unofficial after bar of gabf and has tons of CO and west cost beers. As said before freshcraft is great. Euclid hall is another great place with some wonderful food and a very well picked beer list. Also vine street pub on...

    First AG tomorrow, excited/nervous

Tapped this last night and it is great. I am so happy it came out and I learned so much in the process. I got my ingredients for cream of three crops ale now once the day time temp gets above freezing I will brew it. I don't think trying to heat water when its -2 degrees out is much fun.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Had everything ready to go but my boil off when it's 7 degrees out is too much for this new AG brewer. Did bottle my wheat and esb.
