    British brown ale water

Does the carbon filter affect any of it?

    British brown ale water

Ok, so I'm trying to do more with my water but I'm new to it. I tried to match what I could with London water. I have attached my local water according to the city. I go through an under sink carbon filter. Should I dilute to get mg concenteation down? I know it's vauge but I'm new to water...

    Will this beer gun fail?

Yeah, i won't be carbing with it. Just dispensing. FYI the "beer gun" is a knock-off on Wish, looks identical to the Blichmann for $40. Will see soon how it works.

    Will this beer gun fail?

Ok, so just getting into kegging and didn't want to spend another $30 on a CO2 manifold yet. Someone tell me if and how this setup will fail? Gonna try it with water first but wanted your opinion?

    Refractometer correction?

That was kinda the plan. Raising temp daily then holding for at least 15days. I'm almost 5 days in and if the NB calculator is right I'm at about 1.020. Goal is below 1.015 so i think i'm in good shape. When I buy new hydrometer it will be professional grade.

    Double infusion mash ratio

Turns out mash out probably wasnt an option.
  12. WaltG

    Double infusion mash ratio

If I do mash out I'll only have 5qts. Without mash out I'll have about 13 qts. Really what it is I can go lower ratio in initial mash or skip mash out. Guessing I should skip mash. Other option is go to gas station and play scratchers until I win enough money for a herms system.

    Double infusion mash ratio

Belgian strong dark. I guess traditionally it's 3 steps plus mash out but not possible with my equipment.
  14. WaltG

    Double infusion mash ratio

Ok. So I'm doing 146 for 30 min, 156 for 1hr. My options are: 1.0 qt/lb in my 146 step and do a mash out. Or 1.25qt/lb and skip mashout. Otherwise I'm looking at less than 5qt sparge water. Opinions?

    BJCP catagory

Plus winner of local competition gets brewed by local brewery so bragging rights. Next year I want something worth entering in the Chico competition.

    BJCP catagory

I work when local club meets. Mostly I enter to get honest feedback. The guys I give money to at my LHBS probably aren't 100% honest or my friends I give free beer to.

    Lots of hoppy aroma.

    BJCP catagory

Ok. So i made a hoppy cream ale I really liked and would like to enter into local competition. It's too hoppy (31 ibu) to enter as a cream ale. Would enter it as a mixed style beer? It's not overboard but i would lose points for being out of catagory.
