Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

So what are you finding about the differences between Calrose and Jasmine? Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Really? I'm at a 5 days and I have a lot of liquid and noticeable alcohol smell. But I have it in a closet that probably gets near 80 in the late day. Similar to my first batch (this is my second batch), but seems faster. I noticed liquid in about 2 days. You'll be surprised how much liquid...

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Don't see how that would be a problem, but probably stir it. Three weeks was the ticket for my first batch, the second is producing faster but I am still going the three week point, more or less. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

No. The lid is loose enough to gas off. Are looking for a carbonated wine? Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Steamed 5 cups Calrose Saturday, cooled to Sunday (yesterday) and "jarred" it, it filled a gallon jar and a quart jar, both have a good amount of liquid in them already. Used two yeast balls, this is going hard and strong! Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Gonna do my second extract batch soon. I am doubling the hops, adding 2 lbs of dextrose, then dry hopping in the secondary with a medium alpha hop. looking for a higher ABV mild wheat hop outcome. Odd, I know, but I DID do the original recipe first go-round and liked it. I just wanna toy with...

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

I layered mine then stirred it after 10 days one time. It came out well. Next time I will layer it then stir it after 4 days.. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Strained my 3/4 gallon at 3 weeks. Got about half gallon, sake like but sweeter, has a kick, been drinking it with orange or pair juice. Gonna do up more tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

So mine is about a week and a half in, about a third each, solid, clear and milky liquid. But it smells like acetone. Normal? Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Yeah, my extract version tasted about the same after a week in the bottle as it did a month. I cannot speak on kegging. i will brew this again in the next week. It's getting into the 80's here in Phoenix, soon to do a Skeeter Pee. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

One ounce priming sugar per gallon, and it bottle conditioned well, on the extract version I did. Do it. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Day 3 and lots of breakdown, an almost solvent smell, fuzz on the top, I only stirred it because there are some larger chunks of the yeast ball I was trying to distribute throughout the rice. It's going! Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

I did up an extract version of it, following the recipe closely. I am not a wheat beer fan but this comes out with such great flavor and richness I am now a homebrew wheat beer fan. The lime is fantastic, but next go-round I will probably bump the ABV up. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Pleasantly surprised at how "malty" it is, and not so much the wheat essence. A do again!

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Did this one up. Although not a big hefe fan, the lime part intrigued me. 4 days in the bottle and not bad.

Hello from a Phoenician new guy

Been lurking for a couple weeks. Boiled up my 5th 5 gallon batch Sunday, using kits, next will be an all grain. The last batch was the lemon-lime hefe I found the recipe for here. Glad to be on, enjoying brewing, and I could easily be one of the fanatics I read about here. I ride dirtbikes and...
