    Art Themed Beers

Just wanted to show off these labels because of how awesome they turned out. We entered a local home brew competition at an art museum so we went with an art theme. Cap'n Hoppy's was one of the winners.

My very first "Should I pitch it Thread"

Just kidding, I've read enough on here to know not to pitch it, but we just made our first big mistake today, and I'm curious to know what you guys think will be the result. My buddy wanted to make an American Amber Ale. Being inexperienced, I just asked him for the ingredients list and...

    On beer and automotive maintenance

How about computer work? I think the fastest I ever put together a computer was one I built the day I finally got my kegerator together.

I can't believe I work for this guy...

Anyone remember the White House Beer summit? That was the definition of over blown politics. I'm betting Bloomberg never actually drinks beer, he just said that as a cop out so he wouldn't have to drink it. But your right, a good politician would take a sip, compliment the owner, and then hand...

Excessive Foam with Kegged Wheat Beer

Ok, I've now had this beer knocked back to 10 psi, just to see if I could get it to go without all the foam. I've been venting pressure every day trying to get the beer to "uncarbonate" (probably not the best word, but you get my meaning) so far absolutely nothing has changed. I've even thought...

Excessive Foam with Kegged Wheat Beer

Can anyone explain the scientific basis of longer lines for me? I simply don't understand. It seems like a longer line would accumulate more foam as the CO2 bubbles rise up the line. Hence more bubbles would be obtained through a long line... at least thats what makes sense in my mind.... I'm...

Excessive Foam with Kegged Wheat Beer

Me too, but that's what everything I read told mefor this style of beer, I've never gone over 15 before. My line is only five feet long, I just recently replaced all my lines, and I asked my local homebrew supply if five was good and he said it was. This was before I got on here and found out...

Excessive Foam with Kegged Wheat Beer

I'm new to homebrewing, but I've been using my kegerator with commercial kegs for a long time. This wheat beer is my second keg of homebrew (first was a Kolsch with no problems) I'm getting an absolute absurd amount of foam with this beer. I read that a wheat beer should have around 3.5 volumes...

White spots on top of beer in secondary?

Just encountering this problem, and I'm pretty sure my case is one of two things. 1) Yeast Clumps as stated above 2) Leftover residue from Starsan. I was told that bubbles were ok with Starsan, and to not worry if I am pouring beer on top of them, but when I racked into my secondary, there were...

What Beer Was Your Point of No Return?

Am I alone in saying I like my cheap domestic beers? As much as I love my craft beers (and my future homebrews) theres nothing quite like a pitcher of cheap beer at the sports bar across the street. Rant Done :) My first experience with craft beers was at a local Ale Fest where I discovered...

    New in Ohio

Hello everyone, got a homebrewing kit from Midwest Supplies for Christmas. My parents bought all the men in my family the same kit with the challenge that we have to bring a case of beer to our summer vacation to the beach for a little family competition. I've been wanting to get into...
