    First all grain today

Just sampled a SG reading. It's at 1.008, started at 1.053 so I'm pretty sure it's done. I will take another sample on Saturday to make sure Looked, smelled and tasted good but not really what I was looking for as far as taste. Recipe below 7lbs white wheat 3lbs honey malt 2lbs 2 row 1lb...

Has anyone *actually* experienced problems priming with table sugar?

I've had issues with sugar, but it was because I measured by volume rather than weight and didn't get a good mix in the bottling bucket

Why is Centennial Blonde so popular?

Due to my poor efficiency I upped the grain bill to compensate. Then I actually hit about 75% ha. It'll be a bit higher abv than I planned but no big deal. Anyway, I split the batch in 3 and will leave 1 as is, add tomato / basil to the 2nd and strawberry to the 3rd. I would have left it...

I definitely need to learn how to bypass the timer. What a pain!

    My cold crash fear

I have not cold crashed any on my beers for fear of not getting enough yeast into my bottling bucket. What is a good length of time to cold crash? I don't want all the yeast settle out before racking

    Basil

Is it safe to assume that was dried basil? What was your batch size?

    bottled to enjoy time?

My LHBS has 2 gallon buckets w/lids. I need to punch holes for a blow off tube, but I picked them up for $8 a piece for small test batches

    Basil

I may try a low sodium organic vegetarian chicken stock. Low salt, no meat hopefully low oils. I need to do some more research before I attempt this brew

    Basil

I was worried about preservatives but didn't think about salmonella I figured I would be all artificial flavors. Hmm I'm rethinking it now. More research is needed

    Basil

Ha! I'm shooting for a subtle chicken and waffle taste. I want it to drink like a beer but then you cock your head to the side, smack your lips and say ahh I know what that is!

    Basil

Brewing today or Sunday. I'm using the centennial blonde recipe as the base. I will have 3 x 1.6g batches. 1 I will leave as the blonde 2 tomato basil (still working on the amount of both to use) 3 chicken and waffles. I'm going to use bouillon for the chicken flavor and maple / vanilla...

    Drunkey Monkey

No it was a craft beer I bought but I loved it. I've heard certain types of yeast can give a banana flavor, I will experiment with it sometime. Go for it man! I'm brewing a tomato basil and a chicken and waffle beer this weekend. Can't get much weirder than that!

    2 days after pitching

Not too worried, just trying to learn how much yeast to use. This is only my 3rd batch and I've not had this much settle out so quickly before

    2 days after pitching

I wonder if I pitched too much yeast. I had 1 pint of washed yeast and 1 pack of dried yeast and this is what I got after just 2 days.

    Drunkey Monkey

I'm curious how the banana would work. How much flavor would be left after the sugar is eaten by the yeast. I had a banana bread beer that I thought was amazing, so good luck! I used honey malt in my last batch and hope it turns out well. OG was a tad bitter from the hops, but hopefully it'll...
