Nope. No need. The cap at the end has some weight and that's all it needs. Works great.

I have a 3/8" SS braid and it works fine. I think mine runs about 6-8 inches long and that's works for sure.

I am not sure about all these strategies to prevent loosing too much money in a mugging. All that seems overkill.... How often do you get mugged? If you can just try to run, scream and shout. But really just give them what they want - its not worth risking more to save your wallet/cell phone...

Although interesting to see what went in it, I wasn't a huge fan of this year's VE. The 12.12.12 as just way too spicy and in my opinion, the worst of the bunch. Maybe it will be better after a year or two? Honestly, I think the 10.10.10 was the best one!

I was thinking about this the other day and I think its very doable. The thing is do you really generate enough CO2 during fermentation to make the whole thing worth my time... I have a chemist buddy who is going to help me capture the CO2 to try and recycle it. I will let you know how that...
