Is screw alloy harmful to health

We consume lots of things daily that put in the right concentration could kill us. Solanine is one chemical. It is found in potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplant . If all the solanine was extracted from just the potatoes the average person eats in year it could kill an elephant in minutes...

    Bulk aging mead

I just discovered six bombers of peach Mead I made back in 2016 or 2017. Last I had any of it was Halloween 2019. No matter what else you put into it TIME is the key ingredient to truly great mead.

    Mangrove Jack M21 re-animates

I've vented them all, or what's left of them. Great yeast, incredible flavor, just not predictable. Hate to lose the bottles but I can get more.

    Mangrove Jack M21 re-animates

Bottled a nice wheat beer after two weeks and two equal gravity readings at my expected FG. Seems though it took off again in the bottle. I use PET bottles for the most part and it really swelled them, see picture. These are Coopers 740ml bottles. You can see the shape of the bottle on the left...

    BIAB 2.5 gallon return brew

My wife doesn't drink either. I do ten to twelve liter batches on the stove top in a five gallon kettle. Leaving the lid on partially to maintain a boil isn't a bad thing to do. If steam is getting out so is potential dms. Hope your beer turns out great. Keep us posted!

Grain Bill needed for a 5 gallon grain based (Barley and Wheat Pale Ale)?

I use some white wheat malt in everything. Just love that flavor.

    Prickly Pear Cactus

I've read you should crush them then boil for fifteen minutes or so. If you don't apparently they get gelatinous in the fermenter.

Why is my wine so carbonated and bubbly? (with a video)

I bought a hand operated vacuum pump to degas some wine. I was amazed how much CO2 came out with the pump.

Maybe bottled too soon - Release pressure or refrigerate?

What yeast? Tough call. Venting them works but you may end up undercarbed. If I could I think I'd refrigerate them but keep an eye on them.

Why Do I Want a Head on My Beer?

Landing pad for the gnats so they're easier to pick out and they don't get in the actual beer. Just sayin'

How To ferment hefeweizen in warmer temps?

Use a saison strain. It will dry it out but should make a refreshing beer with some wheat beer-esque flavor.

    First mead tastes awful

Pour some in a glass and add some sugar to sweeten it. Should tell you if the dryness is your problem.

    Where to get corn?

Corn meal is "de-germed" which means it has a lot less oil than whole corn. Just something to keep in mind.

    Adding Tang to Beer

I just primed a few bottle of my hefe-weizen with blue raspberry and cherry Jolly Rancher candies. One is a bit much for a twelve ounce bottle at three grams of sugar. They're tart so I'm interested to see how this works.

Am I the only one who enjoys bottling?

I bottle and find it can be an enjoyable process. I do 10 to 12 liter batches and use 740ml Coopers PET bottles so it isn't a lot of bottles thus not a lot of cleaning. I have never, ever, once had a beer fail to dispense from a bottle. 24/7/365 they work without fail every time, all the time.

Suggestion for a first time try at mead

Google search, "Joe's Ancient Orange Mead". Simple, fool proof, and makes a very nice mead. It's ready in about 30 days but gets better for years in the bottle.
