I've brewed two beers lately that called for belgian candy sugar, and both the kits I got came w/ the solid, rock-like sugar. Also, it was milky not clear. One was an orval clone, the other was a delirium tremens clone. The orval turned out great, the dt is still in secondary. Hope that helps.

Mine bought be the equipment in august and she's been there brewing and bottling every time. It's like a fun activity and we get lots of beer out of it. Good stuff really. Just did my 8th batch since august had to buy another bucket today!

That seems intense. I'm kind of a newbie though, any tips on converting that to extract? I've got a home brewing store about 2 miles from me, and if I knew what all to buy I could just go get the stuff there.

The kit I got uses all chinook. I also just did a brewer's best russian imperial stout, but added 3lbs of extract to it, 1oz of chinook at 30 mins and dry hopped it on another oz for about 2 weeks.

Add like 3lbs of malt extract to it, then get throw an oz of some other hops in at 30 minutes, then upgrade to some liquid yeast and make a starter the day before.

I just got an extract kit from a local homebrew store. The last kit I got from the turned out dead on w/ what it was supposed to be. Brewed it tonight. Gimme a little while and I'll come back w/ a report.

Awesome dude. Great to hear. I'm trying to brew one every time I bottle one just to stock up so I can age some. It's hard not to drink it when it's so fresh and delicious.
