Not to thread-jack, but I just wanted to say that I tried another one of those and it's started to carb up nicely. Also, I made a starter for the AHS yeti kit. 2 pints water, 1/2 cup dme and a vial of white labs in a growler. Gonna brew that yeti tonight. Wish me luck dude! This is batch #10!

Maybe that beer is supposed to taste more yeasty? I dunno. But I have seen what happens when you go to pour a beer that's got the yeast all down the side. It does not look clear in the glass.

White labs California ale. I'm worried cause it doesn't seem to be carbonated after a few weeks in bottles.

Man I took a brewer's best russian imperial stout kit and added 3.3lbs lme, steeped some extra grains added 1oz of hops during the boil and dry hopped it w/ another oz. OG was like 1.100, FG came to somewhere around 1.028. It's been a few weeks and I'm not even sure it's carbing up. I tried one...

What if I pitch a vial of white labs into 4 pints of water and a cup of dme and leave it out for about 3 days? I've only tried making a starter twice and both were 2 liters water, 1/2 cup dme and a vial of white labs left 24 hours.

True brew double IPA. That kit comes w/ 7oz of hops! I loved it, even though after brewing a few more batches and reading up a bit, everything I've brewed since has come out better. I'm seriously thinking of ordering that same kit again just to see if I've gotten any better at this whole thing...

I've got 4 12oz bottles left and I brewed it about 3-4 months ago it's all I can do not to drink those. I tried one the other night and it ended up being exactly like I wanted. Really pungent stuff. I'm seriously thinking of getting another kit of this for my next brew, after I do this AHS...

It's all good. I didn't either. I just figured this was still a good place to talk about this kit, that way when strangers online go searching for info about it, they wont have to bounce from thread to thread.

I made one in a growler and just loosened the lid a little, about a half turn. Worked great!

So I brewed this beer, (the ahs extract kit) the other day. about 24 hours after I pitched the yeast, (a 2 pint starter), the lid to my bucket looked like it was about to blast off the top. Like the airlock was moving so fast, but the pressure couldn't get out. The lid was actually stretched...

Just make sure that after you add the 2 gallons that you still have enough room to add all your extract w/ out it spilling over the top.
