Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Brewed again yesterday and the vent system worked flawlessly. I have two beers utilizing this system in the Keezer and both came out great. And I finally finished up my keezer!

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I just clean and soak all the gaskets, fittings and valves in PBW. Rinse it all real good then let them sit in Starsan for a little while and reassemble.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

Are you removing all of the Tri clamps, fittings, and gaskets after CIP to clean them?

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

Thanks for the info. I will be following your progress. That may tilt me toward a second 14 gallon vs. a 7 gallon.

    Unboxing the Penguin Chiller

No. Neither chillers have pumps included. Another nice feature is that the Penguin unit is fully enclosed.

    Unboxing the Penguin Chiller

The chiller has been performing flawlessly. I have it paired with the SS Brewtech pump and controller on the 14 gallon unitank and it holds the temperature perfectly. It does a great job cold crashing and holding that temp for carbonation/gelatin. I used the valved disconnect to keep the...

    Unboxing the Penguin Chiller

Be careful. That is not the recommended glycol......They recommend inhibited glycol which is less corrosive. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KB59WYY/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Yes, you need a pump. I have the SS brewtech pump. It’s small, quiet, and well built.

I agree. I am going to carb mine at 2.2 also. Let us know what the end product taste like. How much starsan did it inhale?

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

UPDATE....The hop basket worked flawlessly. Just make sure you buy the correct magnets as the low grade ones will permanently lose their magnetism with hot temps.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

You will never totally eliminate the odors from brewing. Remember, you do not use this system while steeping and you will still have to remove the lid during the boil to add hops, check boil etc. Even with vent hood systems, the order removal is no where near 100%. This system does a...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

With 60 PSI and the 9.2 nozzle my boil off rate was about .7 to .8. With the 6 gph nozzle I had about .6 to .7 I think I am going to go back to the 9 gph NOTE: These were all 10 gallon batches.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

I just brewed another 10 gallon batch except this time with the 6 gph nozzle. The exit water was a lot hotter(205 degrees vs 160 degrees) and produces more steam in the sink. Boil off was close to the same so I may switch back to the 9 gph nozzle

Five Awesome Beginner Recipes for BIAB

I just brewed your rye brown ale. I made a mistake and added an extra 1/2 pound to a 10 gallon batch. What do you think this will do to the flavor profile?

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I love the leg extensions with the casters. Stable, easy to move around and I can add the sight glass to the bottom. The shelf on the bottom keeps it nice and sturdy and I have a place for my blow off tube bottle. Also less bending over!
