Will these magnets work for stirplate?

I can say for sure the ones on the right will not work. They will not be strong enough. The ones on the left, well I cant tell. I know you need a rare earth magnet. I think they are different from the one on the left though. I'd do some research first. When I built mine I purchased 2 rare...

lets hear some thoughts on using a wide belly keg!

Im currently piecing together my single tier brew stand. I already have 3 kegs. One which is a New Castle keg with the wide center. I planned on using it for my HLT. Does anyone use this style keg for there systems? If so, what do you think about them? Has anyone added a sightglass to them...

Kettle Sizes For New AG Brewer

Id say go for converted kegs. There plenty big enough for 5g batches and you'll have the extra room if you do decide to brew a bigger batch. More than likely the cheaper option. Id rather have to much room than not enough. Just my. 02¢

    First AG brew....

I would not recommend squeezing the grains to make up for absorption loss. you'll risk extracting harsh tannins that will not taste very good in your beer.

    First AG brew....

correct for your first water amount. id round it too 11qt. BUT, the grain your using in the mash is going to absorb roughly its weight in water. Id expect to loose at the bare minimum a gallon due too absorption. what I would do it, in your boil kettle, fill it with 6 gallons of water...

    First AG brew....

congratulations on the jump to all grain. it will all work out and you love the beer. if you haven't already read John Palmers book How To Brew. there is a digital copy on him website or it is available in paperback. Good luck again, and happy all grain brewing!

How do you get a smooth, creamy, satin-like finish in your beer?

+1 on the other responses. Another possibility is the London strain has a lower attenuation than strains your use too. this would add sweetness but leave a bigger mouth feel in the finished product! just my 2 cents!

    First AG brew....

I use a ratio of 1.25 quarts of water per pound of grain. its not too thin or thick. I use an 8 gallon cooler and usually max it out at around 24-25 lbs... you can always go thinner or thicker. But I would try the 1.25qt per lb and see how it works. Good Luck and happy brewing! as for the...

    Air Duster Wort Aeration

I would not use air duster cans for this purpose. The cans contain compressed air, not oxygen. Also, the companies that produce these products use bittering agents in then to stop the idiots who like to inhale them. Id suggest getting a O2 tank if your seriously considering adding oxygen to...
