I cannot get my home brew to carbonate! :(

Do I adjust the regulator back up if I bleed off too much?

The cure for your short hose troubles

I ordered 10 of these. Hope they come today. About sanitization. There have been only 2-3 posts about boiling the suckers. How does Delrin hold up in boiling water?

I cannot get my home brew to carbonate! :(

Yes beer is definitely cold. Been in there for almost a week. Was in there for over 24 hours before even trying to carb. I cold crashed it for 24 hours before that also.

I cannot get my home brew to carbonate! :(

I've tried serving at something low like 5-10 PSI and I still get foam. My line is 6 feet long I think. I'm starting to think I over carbonated it. Maybe I'll just release the pressure and rack it into some glasses. LOL. :drunk:

I cannot get my home brew to carbonate! :(

I have a kegerator setup. I bought a used kegerator and swapped out the domestic couples with a setup for cornys. It seemed to work great on my last batch (first time kegging). For some reason, I CANNOT get this batch to carbonate! I've mainly tried the impatient method (I don't have any...

    Amount of Extract to Use?

So if I steep 1 lb of grain in 5 gallons it'll increase the gravity by 20 points? Can you break that down for me? :drunk:

    Amount of Extract to Use?

The book is tailored for extract brewing. All recipes are made with extracts but also have AG variations.

    Amount of Extract to Use?

I know there are very specific means of knowing how much fermentable sugars to use but I'm looking for a general rule of thumb. My confusion stems from a new book I got. Brewing Classic Styles by Jamil Zainasheff and John J. Palmer. It's a great book that discusses brewing in general...

Want to use a Wort Chiller, but can't figure out how.

Update on something I finally got figured out. I am using a 550 GPH pond pump in my sink full of ice water. I was able to rig up a reducer that converted the large pump output to one that fits my tubing for my chiller. Works GREAT!

Thoughts on this un-spiced pumpkin ale?

Hi all. Hoping for some feed back on this recipe I sorta threw together. My wife has requested another pumpkin ale after the one I made last year. As I am starting to move away from kits, I wanted to try something different. Last years pumpkin ale was midwest's kit. I quadrupled the pumpkin...

Need Advice and Critique for My Alt

Wow, an altbier on steroids! I can't really comment on the hops but I recently brewed an altbier and this is what my grain bill looked like: % LB OZ Malt or Fermentable ppg °L 73% 6 0 Briess Munich Liquid Extract 35 15 ~ 12% 1 0 German Dark Munich Malt 34 8 ~ 6% 0 8...

Want to use a Wort Chiller, but can't figure out how.

I know how immersion wort chillers work so thats not the issue. I am looking into ways to hooking up a immersion wort chiller to my kitchen faucet or other kitchen water source. I have a faucet with the built in sprayer attachment so I cannot use the garden hose fitting on most chillers to...

What can I expect from steeping Golden Naked Oats?

Just as the title asks. From what I've read it should add a nice smooth mouth feel but will it add any off flavors or cloudiness? This is basically using the Oats as a specialty grain in an extract brew.

    LME Adding Color?

I really should have checked the wiki before asking. Sorry guys! https://www.homebrewtalk.com/wiki/index.php/LME

    LME Adding Color?

Hey guys, first post! I've been lurking here for a while and finally registered. Last night was my first step into brewing without a kit and I'm a little concerned with the outcome so far. Mainly in the color department. I was attempting to brew a British style Best/Premium Bitter ale. I...
