    Imperial Blonde Ale questions!

I'm not quite sure yet. I know blondes traditionally are lightly hopped but do I need to up the IBU's to match that extra malt? I really want the centennial to come through on this one so I'll probably have quite a few late additions.

    Imperial Blonde Ale questions!

I have not checked that out but now I need to! I think I will be adding it to the boil but probably within the last 15 minutes. Some of the extract will go in as a late addition too I think.

    Imperial Blonde Ale questions!

So I recently read and interesting article on Glacier Brewhouse up in Alaska and they had an interesting style of beer posted. They made an imperial blonde ale that was single hopped with centennial. I was curious about making something similar! I already ordered some supplies from one of my...

    Need help with IPA hopping

Well amarillo is delicious but I'm not too familiar with the others. I know magnum and northern brewer are suitable for a bittering addition but I can't give too much input as to the flavor. I have never heard of gardena?

    Elite IPA

Yeah as a new brewer I fully expect i will make more mistakes. The process of making beer is so damn addictive.

    Elite IPA

If all else fails ill just give it to my overly skinny friends who need those extra starches! :cross:

    Elite IPA

I trust your assessment and won't make the same mistake. At the same time I tasted it as it finished its ferment and couldn't discern any off flavors or undesirable qualities so i think its alright.

    Dry hopping an American Wheat?

Its hard to find right now so I figure I might as well wait until the new crop is done.

    Elite IPA

    Dry hopping an American Wheat?

This is true! I've only ever heard of good things about Amarillo for most beer styles.

    Elite IPA

I held it between 145-160 for the 30 minutes, so it was in mashing temps

    Saison Beer Recommendation

no problem. if you do choose one of those update on how it turns out.

    Dry hopping an American Wheat?

I know how you feel. I only have the NB basic homebrew set plus a carboy. If you want that deep berry flavor then you won't be disappointed with Legacy. Even though I only dry hopped it it had a huge amount of flavor. I didn't find it to be very citrusy as some people have found, but definitely...

    Saison Beer Recommendation

I too am interested in brewing up a saison for the summer. I have had kits from both northern brewer and Austin Homebrew Supply. They both have saison kits that look like they are pretty popular, I'm just not sure which one to go for yet

    Legacy Hops

my ipa is currently sitting in a dry hop of 2 oz of cascade and 2 oz of legacy. sorry in advance for the large photos, thats how they upload from my ipod.

    Dry hopping an American Wheat?

In fact yes! They were quite prominent in the dry hop. True to the description they created a distinct berry flavor. It really created the perception of a sweet honey flavor even though it fermented quite dry. My ipa is almost done dry hopping with a combination of Legacy and Cascade so ill...
