I have a weldless on a pretty thin aluminum pot as well. I couldn't get it to stop leaking either. I deburred and it still leaked a bit. I just gave up, I don't care if it drips, and after a 60 min boil burnt wort sealed it up!

i found bargain fittings to be generally the cheapest...so if that fit's your criteria for best i would use them. Fast shipping too.

They do make a less toxic automotive antifreeze. You can pick it up at any auto parts store. As far as the dye goes, they also make UV dye for the antifreeze. Of course you would have to hit the wort with UV light to see if the dye leaked. No clue if that would work or not, might take some...
