Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

Yeah this app should be featured in the commercials. "Brewing in your backyard and need to find out the temperature and amount of sparge water to add in your MLT? There's an app for that"

    Chest Freezer

I don't have an answer for ya but wanted to add something to the discussion. I have passed on several old and cheap chest freezers because I would assume they are less efficient and more expensive to keep running. The only help I can add is that I have seen plenty of 10-15 year old running chest...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

You are incredibly lucky then. I usually lose around 2-3 degrees in my cooler and it appears to have thicker walls. It is a cheapo wal-mart rubbermaid though, so who knows what kind of crap materials are stuck between the plastic!

Opinions... Electric HLT using 100q cooler...

That is awesome! I found a 120qt cooler on craiglist for sale. I'm going to see if I can pick it up for less than $20. It's a bit big, but I may try and use it for a MLT for 10g batches. Anyways, I'm thinking I can turn my 48qt cooler into a E-HLT like that. I'm going to keep asking questions...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

It may just be my eyes playing tricks but those cooler walls look thin. How well does it hold the temp during an hour mash?

Opinions... Electric HLT using 100q cooler...

Where did you end up putting it? More pictures please! I am really curious how well this will work in such a large cooler. I am contemplating this seriously.

Using a pasta maker to mill grain.

Here is a quick video I made of my pasta roller in action. Nothing too exciting. YouTube - Pasta Roller Grain Mill on the cheap! I tried the "push the grain" method at first. I finally decided I would just run the grain through a few more times instead. It's easier on the drill, and should be...

    Chest freezer - good deal?

I did the same thing with someone selling a chest freezer on craigslist. It was smaller and they were asking $75. I offered $50 and they didn't like that. So I emailed back and what do you know? It was sold :( Still looking for the right deal!

    My New Keezer!

Put this before and after the url for your pictures and they will show up in the post. Like this : Impressed and jealous! Good work. I'm still waiting for that killer deal on craigslist so I can build one. My mini fridge will have to suffice for awhile longer! I like the idea of a smaller...

    Homer Bucket Leaching Chemicals

I've used homer buckets for transferring wort from mash to kettle a few times, and even used one as a secondary for about a week. I'm not worrying, hell the alcohol is probably worse for you then anything in that's going to leach into the beer. But now I'm afraid to drink orange juice...those...

    4.6cf mini fridge enough for 2 x 5gal kegs?

I have a 4.6cf GE fridge that fits my two 5gal cornies perfect. Of course I had to bend the freezer section back against the rear of the fridge but after that it fits. I have a 5lb co2 tank sitting on the hump behind the kegs.

Beer carbed. Too Sweet. Hops in the keg after carbonation?

I tried the "hop tea" method today by boiling an ounce of hops for 60min to add to my keg. My 90 min dfh clone is way too sweet. I hope this does the trick. edit: Just took a sample after adding about 2 cups of the tea, and WOW, what a difference. It tastes great now. I'm starting to force carb...

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

I haven't seen that in Brew Pal. I just wanted to add that I love this program. I used the trial of beersmith for my previous two brews and just used Brew Pal on my last Centennial Blonde. So much better than beersmith! I mean obviously Beersmith is functionally superior, but the ease of use...
