    Control Panel Help

Thanks mate. The more and more I think about it, I may just go step by step with your site. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Control Panel Help

I did. That just goes to show how electrically inefficient I am.

    Control Panel Help

Well, I bought two march pumps orignially planning on using propane to heat the HLT and Keggle. So, they run on 110v. Since I've changed plans, I plan on running 240v into the garage to brew.

    Control Panel Help

There are three PIDs, but only two run heating elements. The third will monitor the mash temp while the wort re-circulates.

    I'll look into them. Thanks.

    Control Panel Help

So, I've finally come up with a final (hopefully final) plan for my control panel. I based a lot of it on Kal's design, but I took some components out hoping to make things a bit simpler. I'm no electrician, though, and I need some help with the internal components and mayber a wiring diagram. I...

How do I instal this RTD probe in my kettle?

A T joint would probably be the easiest. You could also weld in a 1/4" half coupling, but if you want to go weldless listen to diS. Check this out for more info: Temp Probes

    tired of hop socks

I think you'd be better off with having filter (like the Hop Stopper from www.theelectricbrewery.com) and forget about the "hop socks."

    Keg Conversion Help

I'm trying to get some holes drilled and couplings welded on to my kegs. Does anyone know of a decent welder/metal fabricator in the Omaha, NE / Council Bluffs, IA area that can help me out for a descent price? All the places I've called are $75 or more an hour, and the cheapest place I went...

    Heating Element Questions

I plan on using the Camco #02963 5500W 240VAC*ultra low watt density (ULWD)*RIPP*element for my EHERMS system. My question is, instead of spending the $375 for the heating elements on Kal's website (The Electric Brewery --- they are awesome, I'm just cheap) how should I install them in my...

    Dummy it down for me...

I'm really starting to like P-J's "simple eherms diagram." I think that I'm going to try to utilize the simpler diagram, though, with a single dpdt center off high amp switch. My next question is how do you switch thermometer probes? Should I just unplug one and plug in the other, or can I use...

    Dummy it down for me...

Awesome. I did plan on using the Auber PIDs.

    Dummy it down for me...

I didn't know I could control the boil kettle with the same PID...I'll have to look into that. It might be cheaper to go that route. Thanks for the input.

    Dummy it down for me...

I only plan on using the PID controls to adjust the heating element in the HLT and to read the temperature of the mash tun. Since water boils @ 100 degrees Centigrade, I don't really need another PID control and temp probe for the boil kettle. I just want a dial where I can adjust the amount of...

    Dummy it down for me...

Thanks for the replies. I've decided to go with the illuminated pushbuttons on the Auberins website: click here. I think that these should work just fine for me. Here is what I'm planning on for my control panel so far. Does anyone know of a good dial switch to adjust the heating element for the...

    Dummy it down for me...

Unfortunately, I received the pump used from a friend so I'm stuck with it. As for the switches, any ideas along the same sort of design?

    Dummy it down for me...

Okay, there are a thousand different resources on this site, and I've gotten alot of useful information. I'm in the process of planning my Electric HERMS control box and I need some advise/help. First question: If I'm running on 240 volts can I use these LED switches or something similar...
