    Time in Primary

One more day won't make a difference. Most beers will be forgiving for up to 3 or more weeks in the primary. It mostly depends on the style and ferm temps. Cheers.

Sabres Rangers Game 4 goal or no goal?

Maybe the Toronto office does have the high speed speed stuff...and the broadcast stuff varies....just guessing though.

Sabres Rangers Game 4 goal or no goal?

I was probably in..bit the rules do need conclusive proof to overturn. It gets me thinking....why aren't there better cameras for that? Of all the cameras that decide goals, the overhead is the one most often used. You would think that some sort of better standard for cameras would need to be...

    color change??

Next time, add the extract to the wort for about the last 20 mins. of the boil. This will be enough to sterilize it, but would be less caramilized, thereby giving the beer a lighter colour. There is a limit to the lightness of extract - LMEs are almost always dark straw to copper even if the...

Kraeusen on top during secondary fermentation

Not to worry... Did you take any hydrometer readings?...normally most people (for ales) rack into the secondary after 1 week. Most, if not all the fermetentation is done at this point. You really dont need a hydometer but will help if you need to see where the fermentation is at...3 days...

    agh.. was it really 1992?

    Purchase: AG System or Kegerator?

Bottling 10 G is no big deal if you are using plastic. I would not want to cap 110-120 bottles..way too much work. If you are moving to 10G consider using 2L plastic bottles. They are nice for summer and make quick work of bottling. For 10Gs, I use about 10-12, 2L bottles...which is...

Any links to a DIY Fly Sparge Arm

I only have done a few AGs -so take this with a grain of salt: I originally made a manifold whilst hammered..and the groves were uneven and it was down right bad. I now use this as a sparge arm...I have the slots pointing up and a hose running from the HLT and it sits on the grain bed. I...

    10 gal batch cooler size

If you fly/continous sparging, you will be on the low side. I tried a 10G batch in a 36 qrt and found it quite small (with a grain bill of about 22 lbs). I am assuming 1.070 10G will run you around 28 lbs...which would leave you with almost barely any room to do a dough in. Even if you do...

Thank Yooper Chick - I may turn to mostly fruit juice - and just bump up ABV with sugar. I am reading some of you recipes - and am getting some ideas. Cheers

    Really Stupid "wine" Questions

Hello, I am an experienced homebrewer and am looking to try something of a science experiement. Whilst reading the Apfelwein thread for a long while, I decided that I may try something in a simialr stlye. The wife likes zinfanzel, but I am a DIY guy, and don't want to buy any number of...
