    Second kreezer build thread

Update: I haven't done much more on this. Been lazy, especially as our friends are no longer coming up this weekend so I don't have a deadline. I just test fit the lid, it fits quite well, which means I didn't mess up the measurements too bad. 😁 I'll probably do some more caulking around the...

Does topping off secondary mess up ABV calculations?

@kwiley in case you don't realize how to do the math they just did, I'll outline it here quickly. That's a total of 5 gallons. 4/5 gallons is 0.8 (80%), 1/5 gallons is 0.2. So it's 0.8*1.060 + 0.2*1.000 = 1.048. If you instead had, say, 4 gallons of juice at 1.060, and you topped up with 1/2...

    RO water from store machine

Well, I was going to start using RO water, and this thread has finalized my decision to go straight to a home RO system rather than lugging store water to start with.

A bunch of questions about kegging...

How big are the CO2 tanks (grams or oz), and how much do refills cost? An adapter probably isn't terribly difficult to source, but I suspect it wouldn't take a lot of paintball tank refills before you reach the price of buying a tank. Prices vary, but in my area with Airgas the purchase of a...

5 days to have two 5 gal kegs carbed

I've done pretty much this myself, as my first keg was full before my first kreezer was built. I think my reg topped out at about 28 psi, but that's pretty close to chart at room temp. I shook at that pressure then left it connected to gas for a day or two while I finished my kreezer. Once I...

    Second kreezer build thread

Update: The corners don't really line up all that well. Mostly I think this is just my cheap miter saw. In any case I said "screw it" and pushed on ahead. Did I mention I want this operational by Friday? My plan is to find some white 90° trim to put over the corners to hide these. I went ahead...

    EVA + DuoTight + ... Picnic Tap?

I have no experience with duotight but we used to use push to generic connect fittings extensively at work. I learned two main things. First, make sure the hose is fully seated, a lot of fittings have a "false bottom" feeling and a lot of new users tend to not fully seat the tube. Second, the...

    Co2 leaking around keg lid

This is good to do every time. When I keg I already have StarSan in a bottle cause I spray just about everything since it's easier than soaking. And I always spray my keg lid, posts, and PRV after pressurizing a keg to make sure there's no leaks. Also as mentioned above try seating the lid...

    Second kreezer build thread

Okay, I decided to stick with my original plan of 3.5" high collar and just do the slight mod of cutting the overhanging trim on the freezer. I did a test piece with some scrap where I used spray glue and glued it together. It was hard to hold straight while the glue dried, and I didn't like...
