    Chest Freezer can't get cold!

These consumer level chest freezers are not generally serviceable. They're priced to be disposable. The last one I bought only cost $155 on sale. A service call and refrigerant would cost more than that.

Not a problem. I have some honey malt at home too if you want some to tide you over.

    DC Area Group Buy #15

@reddskinnfan I plan to go on the 2nd. How much grain did you get? I've got 3 full sacks for myself, so my hatchback will be pretty full, but I'll grab your stuff for you if you want.

    Chest Freezer can't get cold!

I had a compressor lock up on me. It sounded like it was running, but was just a loud buzz. It overheated and died because I had covered the sides of the keezer with wood before I knew better. I now have a different keezer with all sides exposed.

Mixed up In/Out side of keg. Help!

You can always use more than one tea ball per keg. I use 2 usually, half filled. I like the idea of sanitizing parts in it too. Smart.

Mixed up In/Out side of keg. Help!

You don't need (or want) to fill that up with pellets. They will swell a lot and only the outside layer will get utilized, while the inside stays dry. Really you don't need a ton of hops for keg dry hopping anyway. Experiment with it and see what works for you.

5500 watt 240 VAC RIPPLE element for $27.34 ea

According to the comments on the item, the length of the element when seated is 13 7/8", which is slightly longer than what my ULWD Camco elements measure. In fact in the questions, both elements are claimed to be 12.88 w/cm^2

5500 watt 240 VAC RIPPLE element for $27.34 ea

The density rating comes from the wattage divided by the length. These are the exact same model as the ULWD 5500w ripple elements everyone has been using, except that they are stainless. In this case, it's an oversight.

What size bottles do you use exclusively?

I keg everything, never did the bottling thing. Sometimes I'll fill growlers, 12, 16, or 22 oz bottles from the tap to bring places though. I keep a few of each on hand.

Mixed up In/Out side of keg. Help!

pull the pressure relief valve and leave it open, or pull the lid entirely off the keg. Then remove your posts and dip tubes. You want everything where it's supposed to go because the sizes are slightly different. I know the disconnects will usually fit on the wrong posts, but sometimes...

5500 watt 240 VAC RIPPLE element for $27.34 ea

I'm certain that's just an oversight. It's obviously the same length and wattage as it's non stainless counterpart.

Latest DIPA - Pitching Conan like the Alchemist does for Heady Topper

Yep, great thread. It did surprise me to see belma top the list though. To be clear, Belma has a fantastic flavor and aroma, but my experience has been that it takes an insane amount of it to get a good level of aroma compared to other varieties.

Latest DIPA - Pitching Conan like the Alchemist does for Heady Topper

Enthusiasm for Belma has been low. There are several threads dedicated to discussing that variety. I like it for bittering personally, but aroma is almost nonexistant IME.

    FlyGuy's T-siphon: a $3 replacement for an autosiphon

I added a small ball valve (left over from an old co2 manifold), to the end of the tee hose so after starting the siphon, I just close off the valve and no bubbles can pass.
