PLC - Touchscreen Control Panel (TEB Based)

The panel I am using to house the SSRs, relays, and power distribution has come in. Expect photos in the next few days of my progress!

    Arduino Controlled Wort Chiller?

This is the design I am going to use.

    Arduino Controlled Wort Chiller?

I would help you out, but I had to get assistance on the last Arduino sketch I did just to get it to compile. Then it didn't work. Best of luck!

    Arduino Controlled Wort Chiller?

The valve would throttle the wort side inlet. Slowing the cooling liquid will only slow your thermal transfer.

PID? There is quite a few sketches to work off of out there.

    Electrical Primer for Brewers

I see. The idea sounded better in my head than in practical application. The existing electrical primer, along with some common sense should cover the basics.

    Electrical Primer for Brewers

Typical Post: Hay guys, I bought $500 of parts today. Can anyone send me a diagram of how to wire. Something that literally just teaches someone how to quickly wire a general circuit, since the wiring seems to be the biggest issue. I'm thinking we just need a RTFM primer. ;)

    Electrical Primer for Brewers

Wiring isn't too bad once you have a good feel for what is going on! The only trick to wiring is making sure that you have adequate protection for your wire, and safety for yourself.

    Bucks Electric Brewery

Control screen looks like it is coming along nicely. I prefer heirarchy in my designs from macro-micro in terms of process. I love the way you have an overview with the ability to drill down to more detail. Great job!

Anyone build a LP/NG control panel?

There is some good info over in the PJ Wiring Diagrams threads on how to wire most everything. If you need any help feel free to shoot me a PM.

    Electrical Primer for Brewers

Could we do a wiring primer? I.E. the basics of how to wire a panel. There are hundreds of questions a week on "Can I get a wiring diagram for X?" when all people need to know is how to redirect energy simply. I would be willing to write and/or assist.

    Control Panel Layout Advice

So let me say that I do this for a living, and there aren't any rules for the front of the panel. I'll give you some of my common ideas. Front Panel: Ergonomics - can you manipulate every control without issue. No controls should impede the use of other controls. Grouping - Are indicators...

Anyone build a LP/NG control panel?

What is the difference for gas brewers? I think you a 24VAC power supply and a transformer. Your panel could also run on 120V and about 15A. Let me look around and see, I think I saw some you could easily modify on ebrewsupply.com

    Dual purpose controller??

Yeah you can use manual mode. Just keep in mind that you have to adjust the output to set the temp. So for fermentation, you would have to periodically check the temperature of the chamber and adjust the output up or down. Which IMHO is going to be a LOT of work. If you want to be very cheap...

    Dual purpose controller??

That is where the dual controller (STC-1000) would come into play. But yes, if the basement is cool, you should do that. No sense burning kWh if you have a cool area to put it in.

    Control panel prices?

Don't forget the panel! Otherwise you will have to mount everything to the back of the enclosure...

    Dual purpose controller??

Shortly, no. But let me explain. PID is controlled by a characteristic equation based on its error. The error is a function of SP-PV or Setpoint - Actual Value. P - Is the proportional or present adjustment value, which scales the output based on the error NOW. I - Is the integral or past...
