    Help me eliminate some valves...

The people that made me reconsider are to thank. I am taking the hose route as well, but I will act as the valvekeeper! Thank you! I have panels in my garage, but no vessels! Hopefully I get to plumbing in the next 2 years!

    Have you considered CIP?

PLC - Touchscreen Control Panel (TEB Based)

I have yet to use Connected Components for anything but drive programming. The HMI software I am using is AdvancedHMI. There is a Micro830 driver, I believe. Using the software is as simple as typing in the tag you want to reference! The forums are also a great place to learn; often you will get...

    Irving, Texas

Irving Brewers. I want to start a homebrew club. I want to start something more local than Dallas or Fort Worth. I brew with 3 buddies, but we have topped out what we can learn together. I will soon have a dedicated brewery space with 10gal eHERMS capability. I also have a large enough yard...

Brew Boss for a brewer in a wheelchair

You could always use pumps to move liquid. You could also use a pneumatic/hyraulic arm to "tip" the mash tun for easy cleanup. Mechanically you could use a come along winch or a block and pulley system to pull the grain out, or lift it up. Also, I don't see any reason you could not create a...

    Manual PID tuning oddities.

Haha thank you. I have only been in the biz for 5 years, and sometimes I get pushback and think I am wrong. Glad to hear confirmation I can learn SOMETHING ;). Did OP ever get anything solved?

    Manual PID tuning oddities.

All about application. Most of the loops I have tuned were inverse :).

    Manual PID tuning oddities.

I will disagree. We use reverse acting to control bubble diameter. This is an exhaust. So the delta output is inversely proportional to the delta error. http://www.control.com/thread/1254819878 (maybe this is my rslogix5000 notation steering me wrong)

I apologize. This is correct for heating.

    Manual PID tuning oddities.

In the interest of developing some harmony on this post...I think you are both correct about proportional parameters. After all a % of a degree is still a degree! PID runs off the ERROR. P only: Out % = Kp * (SP-PV). So yes, sortakinda, Kp is unitless gain, and the error is in degrees.

    Manual PID tuning oddities.

By the way. I think the assumptions on P control are wrong. Hear me out. Some applications are what is know as "integrating" such as filling a tank with water or level control. Most are not. Temperature control should be non-integrating, in that there is a residual output required to maintain...

    Nuisance GFCI trips

Large inductive loads can cause your GFCI to trip. My electric hair clippers pop my 15A GFCI when I shut them off.

    Tower of Power Eletric Installation

Well their site seems to be down or I would just RTFM. I would assume they only need H-H-G? Nothing in there should require 120V.

    NEW StrangeBrew Elsinore Thread

Just a heads up. The definitions listed are VERY non-standard for PID. It's usually 1 of two things. SP-PV = ERROR. P - Gain of the proportional band (unitless). I - Integral time, close to what he described. (1/s) D - Derivative time, used to filter faster disturbances, usually not used for...

50A spa panel on 30A circuit - Single 5500W element

The 30A in your panel will protect the #10 romex you are using. Should be safe.

Volume Sensing - What are You using

This is definitely the way to go. Just make sure you have a way to take in all the data (could be 2 loops)

Parts shopping sucks! Is this the right part?

Sorry. Didn't realize that was ePacket. I got my last one in about 2 weeks so YMMV. Anyway good luck! Start a build thread. We love those here!
