    HBT NFL Mock Draft '09

Sorry for the delay! With the 9th pick in the HBT Mock NFL draft, The Green Bay Packers select--Michael Oher, OT, Mississippi. With Chad Clifton literally on his last legs, and the very real possibility of Mark Tauscher not returning to the team after an ACL tear, the tackle position is...

American Pale Ale Lake Walk Pale Ale

LOL, I just did that on my last batch, but your quick goat thinking surely is better than my solution--I diluted with a little water. I have often thought about doing a LWIPA. In fact, post your recipe and we'll call it a birth of a legend--except instead of LWIPA, name it after the street...

Oh, okay. I'll google and try to find some. Did you use it in the CJ's JPA in your sig? :p

    Fruit Beer watermelon wheat

Until they come up with a hop that smells like watermelon, I think a pale ale would make the watermelon useless. Also, too much bitter would kill the nice faint, sweet, watermelon aspect, IMHO.

You think Orakpo will go that high considering all the QBs and OTs rated higher, and teams that need those positions first? The reason I ask is I was hoping Orakpo would fall to #9. :D

American Pale Ale Lake Walk Pale Ale

Next time I will definitely do a 1272. Incidentally, Liberty Ale is where I got the idea to add some toasted malt. I found an excerpt way back when I started brewing that Liberty Ale had some. Another yeast I'd like to try is the Wyeast cask ale yeast that is discontinued, but brought...

Watermelon Ale - Need some help

So have you guys tried doing it both fermenting and not fermenting the juice? I wonder what the difference would be as far as taste/aroma. In my watermelon wheat I just add fresh juice to the keg and serve immediately. I don't let it ferment.

I didn't know that about 1272. Personally I think enough passion fruit comes out between the amarillo/simcoe combo. I'm seriously jonesing to try the Wyeast 2450 batch...man I can't wait!

About what I would expect in real life too. Good pick. I wish Raji would fall a bit to #9 in the "real" draft. ;)

I think I've got some brewing to do...

Whoa! Kick ass!!!!! Best score I've seen in a while. Those things are like gold.
  15. Dude

What's the quickest you've gone from grain to glass?

9 days. I did a watermelon wheat for a party once, it actually turned out great. Mine usually go primary 14 days, secondary another 14-21, keg after that. I'll leave it conditioning in a keg and taste periodically before I put gas on.

Don't cry over spilled beer... aka Brewery 2.0 christening

Good to hear. I was following the tweets discreetly (while I was at work). Next time you have to brew cast it!

My dog keeps pissing on my hops!

Hmmm...if your cat was doing the peeing, it would bring a whole new meaning to "catty" aroma. Rimshot, please. :D

Beer: An American Revolution - How Microbreweries Promote Choice Video

Well done video. Wonder what that was marketed towards? A TV show of some kind? One complaint though...was anyone else getting pissed off when they showed the homebrew scene, and whomever was putting the hops in was sprinkling WAY too many of them outside of the kettle? I was cringing.

    Pellet vs. Leaf

I think there is a huge difference in the two. Especially aroma qualities in the finished product. For use in the boil, pellets seem more concentrated to me (more than the 10%) when used for bittering. If I had my druthers, I'd use whole hops 100% of the time. Especially for late kettle...
