When to add watermelon to wheat beer

I do a pretty decent watermelon wheat--and I've always added straight juice right to the keg before serving. I usually add about 2 cups to a 5 gallon keg. Sometimes more. I don't let it ferment. However a watermelon lambic is on my short list of beer to do someday. To OP--why would you...

That awesome story is in this forum, HERE. It is a great read and well worth your time.

What does oxidized beer taste like?

Sounds like you have a few things possibly going on there. Your comment about "alcohol increased" has me thinking you are tasting fusel alcohols. That is common with a high ferment temp (and also if you underpitch). Unfortunately it won't ever go away... Oxidation is distinctive wet...

Creating an IPA Out of a Pale Ale

My opinion, skip the molasses idea. And to make it an IPA, you definitely need to add more hops! I regularly take my LWPA recipe and just add a few more pounds of grain and extra hops to push it into IPA territory.

Homebrew shops not supportive of Military

To the OP...is your beef only that morebeer won't offer the free shipping? IIRC, that is for UPS orders only--and going to an APO that's a whole new ball of wax. I'm just glad Morebeer is one of the vendors that even offers a USPS option so brewing stuff can be sent to us at APOs. I utilize...

BEST/WORST thing anyone has ever said about your own HB?

Best: "It's like an angel peed on my tongue" Worst: "This tastes like Blue Moon" (Why is this a common theme? People that *think* they know beer...usually... *don't*. ;) )

Of course it is rated an "A". :rockin: Interesting choice of hops there, bro. ;) I just bought some Falconer's Flight and I'm not sure if it's just me, but that blend is really flowery to me. I'm gonna brew with it soon, but I think I'll use an English yeast.

I'd invest in beertools or beersmith or promash for conversions to larger batches--but if it is yeast only that you are concerned with, the best resource out there is Mr Malty's pitching calculator. http://www.mrmalty.com/calc/calc.html Good luck!

    Christmas in September

I sent it to you--I hope you can use it. I mainly just used it as a tool to help me keep good notes. I print one off on brewday and annotate any changes I make, and write down notes as I go along. Then I can keep track of what I did wrong, LOL.

Wow! Can't belive all the comments in this thread! Thanks all! Checking in after quite a long hiatus from HBT. The past year has been stupid busy, so my HBT time took a huge hit. I've moved from the states, to Germany, to Iraq, and now back to Germany, LOL. Anyway, I'm revisiting the...

    RARE Sabco Fermenter--FOR SALE

Only slightly used--I fermented with it only 3 times because I rarely did batches larger than 5 gallons. You could easily ferment 12-13 gallons in this. The main advantages is it can be a completely closed system, you can push the fermented beer out of it using hoses and C02 (or gravity) into...
