    Bitter aftertast

I've brewed 2 batched all the way to being in the bottle 3 or more weeks. Both have a pronounced bitter aftertast. I thought the first one was because I used bleach as a sanatizer and maybe didn't rinse enouph. The second I used a no rinse cleaner from the LHBS and have the same bitter tast...

I figured it was something weird, but thought I'd check here before I lit the fire. Thanks

    90 min boil for extract?

That would be the normal way to do it, but reading the instructions gives me the impression of a 90 min boil. Maybe i'm just having a brain fart

    90 min boil for extract?

I'm about to brew this Fat Tire clone from BYO. The directions, as seen below, call for a 90 min. boil. Is this ok for an extract batch? I've only seen a boil that long in a BIAB. New Belgium's Fat Tire clone 5 gallons, extract with grains; OG = 1.050; FG = 1.01; IBUs = 16...

Not enough water added in Primary

From everything I've read here you should take another reading in 2-3 days to make sure the sg hasen't changed before you bottle. But then I'm only a nOOb :)

Did I add to much water after the boil ?

I have a refractometer that I calibrated against the hydrometer in distiled water. The refactometer was only .0001 off the hydrometer reading. Can you have a bad hydometer?

Did I add to much water after the boil ?

The american ale has been in the bottle for a little over a week. I chilled a bottle and it did have a good tast. Still to bitter, hope that mellows out some over the next couple of weeks. I also have a IPA in the secondary, needed the primary, a Weizenbier bubbleling in the primary for 8...

Did I add to much water after the boil ?

Is it worth it to wait it out? I'd hate to go through the trouble of bottling and waiting 3 weeks to find out I still have watered down beer :( I'm going to start onother today and pay more attention to the water / OG

Did I add to much water after the boil ?

Thanks for the replies, Yes I relied on the pale marks to top off, I will measure and mark the 5 gal. mark on the pale before the next batch. I didn't expect the sample to taste good, tasted better than expected, just assumed it wouldn't have the consistency of weak tea. Is this how beer...

Did I add to much water after the boil ?

Hi all, first batch and first post. I brewed a BB American Amber and folowed the instructions to the letter except I didn't take a OG. I tried but couldn't get a good reading from the primary.(to much foam) so I just added water to make the 5 gal. I just pulled a sample to get a FG after...
