240v GFCI breaker vs inline GFCI?

Awesome description. I understand now. Thanks for the post

240v GFCI breaker vs inline GFCI?

I’ll withdraw my question because I don’t think I asked it well. I hooked up the neutral pigtail. I agreed there is no reason not to. My question was trying to understand how the internals of the gfi breaker works and if that portion required the pigtail. It was just a curiosity question on...

How long does it take to keg

I just kegged a couple a couple nights ago. The actual transfer time was less than 30 minutes and super easy if you don't count the time trying to troubleshoot a leak on the keg. I've used the keg before buy there's a small dent around where the lid connects and after experience the other day...

240v GFCI breaker vs inline GFCI?

I didn't mean a GFCI breaker. The directions on the Square D break I installed said the neutral pigtail needed to be connected for the GFCI portion of the breaker to work properly. I don't know if that was just standard warning verbiage so people connect it or actually required based on how...

What I did for beer today

Got 13.5 inches of snow yesterday so spent my off time mostly cleaning the driveway. Afterwards I did my best to try to kick a keg celebrating a big Iowa State basketball win (that I didn't make it to because of the snow). Tonight I need to decide if I'm brewing this weekend. It's a three day...

    First timer

Similar to skeeter - why do you think it doesn't have alcohol? I agree with a previous poster bubbles don't necessarily mean fermentation, but most likely if you through yeast in a kit and got bubbles you made some alcohol. What was the expected ABV for the beer? Unless it was really high I...

What I did for beer today

Kegged my first 10 gallon batch and carbonating now. First time using my two new conicals (did a previous 5 gallon batch with one). Overall went well but had an issue with one keg lid not wanting to seal. It has a bit of a dent right around the lid opening so I think I’m taking it out of...

240v GFCI breaker vs inline GFCI?

I'm not an expert on the internals of a GFI breaker, but I thought the internal circuitry for the GFCI required the breaker as well. I just went through what OP did as well. I'm pretty handy with wiring but my current box is a mess (old hose with many many add ons - well actually four boxes...

    Changing Draft Beer Lines?

I pretty much clean when ever a keg kicks. I have it set up to easily clean all four at the same time so I just hit them all when a kegs goes. I probably get them something like monthly which is less that the bar recommendation but I haven’t had any issues. I don’t do anything between pours...

    Anyone Mix LalBrew Dry Yeasts?

My standard neipa uses New England and Verdant 2:1. I can’t saw I have a strong reason for doing that other than I started there and have liked every Hazy I made. Haven’t done any experimenting to see if it’s worth it. I just upgraded to do 10 gallon batches with two fermenters so maybe will...

    Changing Draft Beer Lines?

I used a couple PTC 90º in some tight spots

    Changing Draft Beer Lines?

Has the upstairs bar always done this or is it new? Do all 6 taps do this? If it was me I would probably just replace them. I think my total cost I have in beer lines is a few bucks. Even if that’s not it it’s a cheap thing to try.

How long does it take to keg

This plus once the transfer starts you can go watch TV, have a beer, clean something, whatever while bottling takes your full attention

What I did for beer today

Yeah I haven’t really used markings in the knobs mainly because the etching is really light (plus I probably need glasses but haven’t admitted that fully yet). I always set with feeler gauges. The gap visibly opened on one side during milling though. I took it all apart and I’m not sure why...

    Why do people Quit brewing?

I have the same weird experience with people asking. When I see people at local functions I often get asked about how brewing is going and they can’t wait to try it. Then like a few weeks ago we had some people over and they all brought their own beer. They tried a bit but it seems like they...

What I did for beer today

Brewed for the first time indoors and first time doing 10 gallons. New Brew Easy setup doing an American IPA. Went well for the first run other than a stuck mash. I have never liked my grain mill and I’m going to blame it. Several times while milling I noticed the gap setting had opened up...

What I did for beer today

Milled grain, measured out water and salts for first brew on new indoor electric system. Going for a Two Hearted clone since that was the first brew with my original set up

    Why do people Quit brewing?

Is cleaning kegs really that bad? I typically soak them overnight in PBW or oxy clean water and then when it comes time to use them again fill with star san and purge with CO2.
