    Not-So-Obnoxious Baseball Thread

When Clay comes back hopefully he pitches well. That would free up an extra arm or two for the bullpen as well. Right now the bullpen is the only thing that really troubles me. Time will tell.

    I am DRUNK POSTING

Yeah five months is too much. I'm having a hard enough time with one.

    I am DRUNK POSTING

I also am trying to shed some of the beer weight off. My wife and I are doing the fast metabolism diet. It's a good book. You have to follow a strict diet for 28 days (no beer) :( but you lose a lot of weight. My father just lost 27 pounds and I have already lost 15 in 2 weeks.

I think the water level music would be pretty cool to use with a coin block sound every now and then.

Imperial Bourbon Aged Coconut Porter Recipe

I'm fairly new to brewing but if I had to guess you could probably get some oak chips and soak them in bourbon, then add them to the secondary.

    Local home brew stores

I just got into brewing this year and have been using Blackstone in Woonsocket mostly for my supplies. The owner is a really nice guy and very helpful too. I've been meaning to try the place in Hope Valley but haven't made it there yet.

The single best beer bar in your state?

Just went there a couple weeks ago! Good beer great atmosphere! For RI I would say Dohertys East Ave pub in Pawtucket. http://dohertys.com/beer 84 beers on tap and about 40 bottles too, they offer a great variety. Plus, missing from the menu posted above, they always have a nice first chance and...

Your favorite band or album that nobody ever heard of

Samuel Locke Ward outta Iowa is very under the radar. If you are a fan of indie rock you will most likely enjoy his music. His Sad Times For High Hopes album is awesome, one of those albums you can listen to over and over all the way through. I couldn't find anything from that album on YouTube...

Beginner's Q #1: Cold water in fermenter (partial wort boil)

I was wondering if anyone uses distilled water to top off their fermenting buckets/carboys? I'm only a couple brews into the hobby, but I haven't had any problem doing this. I usually use spring water for the boil and refrigerated distilled water to top off my bucket (I figured this was good as...

    My First mead

That being said...I've read that many people let their mead sit for months in primary before racking without problems.

    My First mead

The best bet is to take gravity readings. I'm fermenting my first batch of mead right now (a cyser) and I've had it in there for a week and a day already. I took a gravity reading yesterday and I'm at just about 9%abv. I'm shooting for around 16 so I'd say about a week and a half to three weeks...
