    Cherry Mead?

I have been contemplating a cherry mead recently. I was walking around one of my local grocery stores this evening and saw that they had 100% cherry concentrate. It comes in a quart container and the label said it had over 1,000 cherries in each quart. Any suggestions for a recipe using this...

    Costco Kirkland Honey Article

I think the Costco brand is $12-$16. That's for a 5#. The equivalent in your Dutch honey is cheaper.

    Banana short mead

My fermentation did the exact same thing. As of last night, most of the bananas have sunk to the bottom, and the airlock has almost no movement. At least during the 5 mins I stood there.

    My 1st mead....

Band-aid is probably a more correct explanation. Now I'm kind of worried. I have used my tap water on every mead I've made. I didn't use oak. I dont remember buy i think I used D-47, which I've used on all my meads. (how would I check it's health?) The infection. How to check it? My guy is...

    My 1st mead....

Yes a gallon. Other than the plasticy taste, it didn't have much flavor. When I hear dry I think like a very dry Cabernet. Is that same implication? I know the more the honey the sweeter it will be. At the time I didnt. :(

    My 1st mead....

I made my 1st mead on 7/7. Racked it on the 7/22 and it cleared really nicely. It was a simple mead. 2.5lbs honey Water Yeast D-47 (packet) I added a tbs of vanilla extract and about 25 raisins to the original fermenter. I was still new to the process and didn't take an OG reading. I did take...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

I've read not to double or triple spices when making more from a 1 gallon recipe. If I want to make a 5 gallon batch, how should I proceed? Spices and oranges etc?

First Mead - Slow Ferment vs Stuck

I bought a "thief" for those situations. Prior to that I used a "baster". Make sure they are clean though. ;)
