    Honestly, I don't have a clue. It my 3rd attempt at mead making. My 1st was just terrible, had a nasty band-aid taste. I kind of followed a recipe I found. They had me get water boiling and steep 5lbs of frozen blueberries for 30 minutes. I didn't use frozen. Once I got all the ingredients...

    It's a blueberry mead. In the bottles it doesn't look as clear as in the glass. It came out at 12.3% abv

    I had to take a sip. It is definitely sweet! I added some honey back when I added the spices. If you have ever made warm apple pie, it is very similar.

    I didn't see this until now. Too funny! I did taste just now. It tasted pretty good. Slightly syrupy in consistency but good. Nice little alcohol burn.

    I started my batch on 7/28. I only have 2 orange slices left floating, the other sank already. It appears to be clearing as well. Is this normal for it to be happening this quickly?

    My 1st mead....

    That was supposed to read "gut" not guy. I was smelling one of my other meads last night and the rubber bung smelled exactly like what my tasted like. Is it a possibility that it is causing it?
