I'm not sure where you're located exactly but the guys over at Lancaster homebrew are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I got my starter kit at scotzin bros. I'm also headed back there today because I got a gift certificate for Father's Day so I have to spend it immediately!

Maybe the hydrometer was off?

I actually already have two cases of empties. The wife doesn't know. Shhhhhh.

My first Bach is in the back of my basement just fermenting away. I need to get a couple cases of Guinness stout and "empty" them so I have somewhere to put my first brew. Oh the pain!

I got the brewers best starter kit it was 130 and its a great little kit it came with everything I needed to get started. I still want a couple little things like a racking cane clamp but that's just a "comfort" type item.

I live less than an hour from the brewery in pottsville.

I don't know how bad you messed up because I just brewed my first batch last weekend too! I am glad I had second thoughts about doing exactly what you did. I actually thought about doing the same thing but just put it in the ice bath instead.

As soon as that fermenter is empty! My wife is already rolling her eyes.

That's the first time I've touched the fermenter. I'm completely paranoid about infection. I was planning on giving it another week or two till I take a hydrometer reading. I just wanted some input and thanks!
