Where to get cooling coils by themselves, without a fridge around them?

I'm planning to build a temp controlled fermentation chamber after my keezer is done. One part I can't figure out how to source (or build) is the cooling. I don't want to hack a large fridge because it would be too large and space-inefficient and wouldn't fit in the brew closet. Is there a...

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Image seems to sometimes decide to size itself down, and sometimes not. For me, last time it resized and fit within the post. Now, it shows at full size, took about 100 seconds to download, and resolution is confirmed to be 4128x2322, or slightly over twice the resolution of a full-HD screen...

    Regulators: Cheap generic, or Taprite?

Nice trick! I do not need knobs, as I already have magnets to mount a screwdriver right next to the gas system, but the penny trick might be too good to pass up. Otherwise, replacement gauges would cost the difference between the cheapos and the Chudnow regs, so I'm decided on Chudnow.

Questions about regulator / gas system for large keezer project

I was under the impression the pass-through was a direct unobstructed air channel, so that you can put your high-pressure gauge there and measure the pressure in the tank. Maybe two-stage regulators operate differently? Have you encountered regulators that alter the pressure of that channel?

Has anyone modded bathroom scales to gauge beer left in kegs?

Has anyone tried these pressure-sensitive flexible strips? This one doesn't go low enough and isn't accurate enough to perform as a scale, but something like this would be waterproof and sufficient to flip on a light when a keg went below a certain level. Not sure if all kegs have this, but...

DIY Grain Mill Station...Another MOTOR Question

Thanks, I'm definitely keeping it! I stumbled on it trying to find out the torque rating for those DeWalt corded drills, so I have this thread to thank for its discovery. Turns out they sell the motor DeWalt uses in their corded drills, but unfortunately not the gearbox. At the point you're...

    Regulators: Cheap generic, or Taprite?

Do they otherwise work just fine? Is it hard to tune the pressure to the right PSI for carbing or serving beer?

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Here are some links for people who are having trouble finding electronic components: Newark / Farnell See this section: Passive Components > Potentiometers > Rotary Potentiometers. They also sell knobs. I found it useful to start with a knob I like, then use the shaft type and diameter to...

    Regulators: Cheap generic, or Taprite?

Same here. If they're as closely spaced as I plan them to be, there wouldn't be much finger room between the adjacent knobs. I have a large pile of hard drive magnets, so I'm just going to mount one next to the gas system and dedicate a $5 screwdriver to it.

DIY Grain Mill Station...Another MOTOR Question

The power screwdriver suggestion has some merit, just don't go cordless. You can get a beefy corded power drill with enough torque to run a mill for real cheap. Just enclose it in a wooden box (with ventilation holes for heat) so customers can't see your hack job. Mounting is easy, just use...

    Regulators: Cheap generic, or Taprite?

Question being, what does "cheap" mean? You won't find me investing $60 in a screwdriver, and regulators being nearly as simple, I questioned if there was a "beer markup" at work. Consider that a $30 grill tank comes with a regulator, tank AND propane. (Its regulator just doesn't have an...

Questions about regulator / gas system for large keezer project

Thanks guys! I decided against the generic regulator because the pressures I would be using for beer are only a tiny part of the gauge. I question the gauge's accuracy in that range, and even if it's accurate it will be hard to read. Replacing eight gauges would just about make up for the...

    Regulators: Cheap generic, or Taprite?

Just realized something about the generic soda regulators that I was missing. The lower pressures are sort of crunched down on that gauge, so targeting any pressure under 20psi is going to be much more difficult. The Chudnow go from 0 to 10 in the same space that the generics go from 0 to 30...

    Regulators: Cheap generic, or Taprite?

Thanks! With the pressure release and the valve and barb included, those are actually competitive with the generics.

    Regulators: Cheap generic, or Taprite?

Hi all, I'm looking at these regulators for $24 each. I plan to get 8 of them: $24 generic regulator from sodadispenserdepot.com I notice Taprite regulators are at always at least double the price. Is there a reason for this? Going with the generic regulators would save me about...

Questions about regulator / gas system for large keezer project

I'm guessing I made this too big by asking everything in one thread. Can anyone at least tell me whether the threaded plug I see on the side of most regulators is usually removable? e.g. on the left of this image: Should I expect that plug to be removable, or should I expect it to be...

anybody of electrical back ground plz help me

You should post the model number of the switch, so people who know how to help you have enough information to help. Switches come in a variety of configurations, they're not all the same. If not the model number, tell us what contacts are available, or how many positions the key can turn to...

Questions about regulator / gas system for large keezer project

Hi all! Just signed up, and could use some of your expert advice. I've been working on an 8-tap coffin-top keezer setup, and it's come time to plan the gas system. (Might bump it to 9, to add seltzer water.) I have a couple of questions about regulators. I already have CO2 tank with...
