Ok, first Zbrew for me. A little long for a post, but I suspect people are hungry for a little info. Turn it on: Can I have a HELL YES for the automatic update right off the bat. I really did not like having to do that manually with my Mac. Very nice and much improved PICOesc OLD screen...

YM obviously Varies. For me most of these are a bunch of nit picky things I either don’t care too much about or I do other places. Could your suggestions make it better? Absolutely. And I expect over time, with improvements, all of these cutting edge appliances will be quite remarkable...

    Partly Covering Boil

Zymatic never gets above 207 and thus never boils. Never a problem. The vigorous boil necessity is a brewing myth. Brew on!

Actually I have no idea. Lol, But they are shipping!

New Z in the house. Unboxing done. Wow, this is not a Zymatic+ or even a 2.0, it is new machine. The only carry over I see is the individual hop cages. Greatly improved screens with rubber seals, simpler plumbing with no moving arm or step filter valve, very slick and compact head unit with...

May sound silly but send me, or anybody close a bottle.

    Off flavour

Interesting. Typically beer tastes good at all stages. Odd that you are developing a new flavor at that point in the process. You will get lots of opinions here, so it’s going to be tough online. My experience is that most all off flavors outside of contamination is caused during...

And the zymatic guys are all up in bat sh$t arms because they are simply not getting their weekly updates in time. Damn, none of this is good news for a product no matter how expensive or how cheap. Guys and gals I applaud your fortitude. I would have bailed looooong ago.

Reasonable price for a Zymatic, new in the box?

To answer the question I think that the trade in value from Pico sets the bar. $600 for the old version.

How much hops and grain do you have on hand?

    Significantly more as of today...

Off flavour? Woody, oak flavour in beer

Seriously bag the sparge one time. Add a small amount of extra malt to the mash if you feel the need, or a little DME pre boil if you need to. How much does your SG gravity change after sparge anyway?

    Tired of faucets?

As far as things that are cool that I have no need for. I would rather have a cool canning machine.

My experience is that pbw is great for stainless and some hoses and plastic fermentor buckets etc. Not so for polycarbonates and any rubber parts line gaskets and seals. Powdered dish soap works best on those parts. The manufacture would/should know their product best.

Hey lucky for you Christmas is coming!!

Hey they know best. Powder dish soap does not have the same impact as PBW on rubber and plastics. I clean my kegs with PBW and I have to replace the badly deteriorated seals on a routine basis. The PICO people make a big deal out of not using PBW on their units. YMMV
