    A Game of Thrones

Gosh darn it... my friend here says nothing of the red wedding. He only says it is better than anything we have seen yet.- Darn...

    Stone XI Anniversary Clone

Blasted! I just had a fine bottle of SSR. Tasted the brew I have held to great respect and yet I am surprised. The notes are of overwhelming sweet maltnyess and separately hoppy bitterness. A true barleywine. But this is not the reason I write this review. I am intending on making this...

    A Game of Thrones

Those who frequent this site exhibit a certain type of self reliance, we brew at home as we please, when we please, what we please. Feel free then friend to say it, Game of Thrones can be viewed at home with no HBO as easily as a brew can be had in a place with no Total Wine. We think alike...

    A Game of Thrones

I was thinking the exact same thing. I am sure he has it well planned out unlike Tolkein for example. I any case, Tonight is The Night: Game Of Thrones, the ritual is on! Prepare yourselves, gather the desired companies, grab brews, dim the lights and enjoy to the maximum. Happy brewing...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Havent used the W 1968 yet, but from what I see it seems to be quite a good match. To me this brew is about the residual "mysterious" maltyness and of course the Pine Cone of a hop presence (thanks the Gods for Chinook hops). I think you may well just get that residual matlyness with 1968, give...

    American IPA Stone Ruination Clone

I am all for experimenting Jim but I think with carastan you would get something like an english pale ale at best or a light brown ale at worse. Its just not my thing personally. I would change the c-20 its there to promote the hops I think. This beer is an IBU monster, I wouldnt want it maltier...

    A Game of Thrones

Yup, its how he does things. A very different but yet more realistic style to epic writing. About the books, at least we still have GRRM alive, J R R Tolkein is dead for example and his son didnt exactly do a good job continuing his fathers legacy. (I cant wait for the Hobbit to come out.)...

    A Game of Thrones

I second that Homer! Gosh Darn Right! I ll have a brew in her name during the premier, I am sure she will not disappoint us! 3 Days Left Mate!
  12. C

    A Game of Thrones

That is one peculiar thing about GRRM: he kills off his lead characters soon and elevates others in his place. One may even say that "Levitation Ale" might be just the appropriate brew for this show, just sayin... ;) 3 DAYS LEFT! Enjoy the show everybody and as always Happy Brewing!

    A Game of Thrones

    American IPA Stone Ruination Clone

thanks vegan i appreciate. I am not a bog CTZ single hop fan but i guess it bitters/complements well my favorite hops. I ll do some searching, maybe I can find something good for the both of us to brew, get rid of those Columbus. As for the brew, Ruination Clone has now been moved to the...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Pacman is a beast. It attenuates high and as you said no diacetyl. Even at slightly higher temps you wont get esters as you would with other yeasts. I would use it in AB if I wasnt concerned by how massive this yeast it. It can and may well dry us your brew and in this case, Mash temp providing...

    A Game of Thrones

Only 5 days left till the season 2 premier of GOT. The ritual continues yet again: i) a specially designated High Malt/High Gravity/High IBU/Ice cold Session home brew in hand. (Black IPA?) ii) a few good buddies to watch the show with, since my girl isn't into to. (Sacrilege...) iii) a...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Im with hammy on this one, notwithstanding, wanting to see how the 140 version come out. That said, the three little bastards projects are all 105.7 IBUs (to be exact). Looking forward to your versions as well. Please keep those clones comin. Happy brewing to ya, and it aint A.B unless its bold!

    American IPA Stone Ruination Clone

He just got initiated to the world of Stone Clones and it seems you did a really good job on this one. Keep it up and keep it hoppy! PS: Speaking of hoppy, I ordered some Columbus rhizomes this year (next yrs crop). I 'd rather go with Centennial or Chinook but Rebel Brewer was out of stock...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

God bless you and your hoppyness, you give justice to the term "hopHead". I admit 140 IBUs may be a bit out of my range for this clone but is very well received as an idea. I am curious to see how it goes. Please do post any taste test. Happy brewing to ya and keep it Hoppy!

    American IPA Stone Ruination Clone

Guys, thanks for the responses. I am dry hopping at my usual 10 day range. I like to give it a little nudge every now and then to sink the floaters. I cant say how hoppy it is just yet since I havent bottled it just yet. Tomorrow is the day though! Thanks for the heads up and I should be...
