Any brewers in the Bristow/Manassas Va area?

GR8DA, I think I am being realistic when I think that most of the attendants will be there to network and exchange ideas with other homebrewers. I am glad you took the initiative to do this. I think there are things that interest most of us in the area such as group buys, specially when raw...

Any brewers in the Bristow/Manassas Va area?

GR8DA, this is how I would approach it: I would state that each brewer should bring their own for the sample, the more they wish to sample, the more they should bring in return. I only think it would be fair. If some homebrewers wish to share more than they receive that is fine but the...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Nonetheless, I think C-150 is our winner here. I tried making it with special B and it just wasnt it. Brew tasted great but was not A.B. Happy brewing to ya all.

    American IPA Stone Ruination Clone

Sounds good mate, I guess it has to go through its stage. I have noticed it happen too often with my IPAs. Always thought the sooner the better since hop aroma does dissipate through time but that isnt always true. IPAs i have come to notice do have have a peak and it does depend on the gravity...

    American IPA Stone Ruination Clone

Oh that is really good to know Scottland, much obliged. Mine did finish a bit lower (1.008) but not too low, thus raising the ABV. Thanks again. Happy brewing.

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

At any rate, I think you will be just fine and the results will very rewarding. 1.072 is fine and 30 IBUs are also ok, perhaps it wont be exactly FBS but nonetheless a fine winter sipper. Happy brewing to ya and good luck with it.

    Stone XI Anniversary Clone

It is possible, I did check the date and it was before the freshness date. I did get a great hop aroma, even fine hop flavor, only that hop taste was overly reminiscent of A.B. I did not get the Simcoe/Amarillo combo, at least not noticeably. What we know with certainty is that A.B uses a high...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

Yup, go high and let the brew sit for a while, the IBUs are well calculated for a great result. Happy brewing, I am off to crush some grain for my Alpha King clone!

    A Game of Thrones

So then its true of the Red Wedding, perhaps a brew is made in its name and reserved, time permitting of course. I was thinking of a Red Ale, not sure if it is going to be an Amber or Irish. It will be summer, it will be warmer, perhaps an American Amber but double hopped. I would gladly make...

    American IPA Stone Ruination Clone

Yup its toffee like alright, but I am not sure you are gonna get that with the light version of it, specially considering that the plain carastan is already not so toffee like (special B now thats toffee to the max!). I think Ruination has a good balance between hops and malt, perhaps a mix...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

It is IMO since you are going to age this one, (it gets better with time). I would stick to the recipe on this one, hops do dissipate through time. Happy brewing to ya and I m sure it ll work out.

Can you Brew It recipe for Rogue Shakespeare Stout

Tried one more Shake Stout, I have this to say: It was good enough to begin with and it only got much, much better! The cascades backed off a bit and now its all about the malt balance, really good chocolaty stuff. Happy brewing to ya all.
