The "Waiting for the Next Giveaway" Speakeasy

Since I have no grains, and I am going to win the BrewEasy system, I decided to give a clone system a whirl. I was bored this weekend and we had a massive cold front blow in. Rebuilt my 120v PID TO 220v, just need more wire to make the cords longer. It is buried in the corner there between...

The "Waiting for the Next Giveaway" Speakeasy

In the highly unlikely event that I don't win, I will have to devise a similar way to stack the kettles.

The "Waiting for the Next Giveaway" Speakeasy

Since I have two BIAB systems I have considered making a them into a k-rims type system to get some practice in for when I WIN the Breweasy system. By considered I mean already done a wet run, started my yeast starter and picking up the grains Monday while I'm in Lubbock.

16 minutes to chill 11 gallons

Let me know how that CFC works. During the summer months my water ground water is 80-85 deg, I want to run two chillers to get down faster, then use recirculated chilled water as the last measure to get to pitching temps. Been looking at CFCs for the second chiller. Right now I just use the...

At what point do you stop upgrading your gear?

Trying to down size right now then plan to buy a SS brew bucket instead of using PET carboys and plastic buckets. Would love to own a Breweasy and glycol chilled Chronicals. But space and funds don't permit that.

    Blichmann BrewEasy

I am wondering the 65-72% efficiencies people are claiming is that conversion or brew house?

Its just a panel mount USB then just used the short blue USB mini cabe that came with the Nano. Just be sure to unplug the unit from the wall before you plug in the USB to your computer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321726488820?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

As far a Fahrenheit working. I changed the Celsius boil temp from 108 to 221. After uploading and changing to F, I was able to set the boil temp to 212 F. After a test with a small pot and hot plate, I'd say this will get Deg F to work. Here is what changed. //Setting 8 Stages float p_C[]...

Yes its a one wire and yes I have the temp correction maxed out. If I cant figure it out thats my plan just calibrate at mash temp and call it good enough. Also having issues with the Fahrenheit settings, it isn't pulling the def F settings it just uses Celsius settings. I'm using v...

    Open ArdBir Nano eBIAB Build

Borrowed a lab grade thermometer and logger from our chemistry teacher where I work. I calibrated both the Ardbir and the lab termo in ice water. What I am noticing is that the temp out put by the Ardbir gets further away from actual as the temperature increases. Has anyone noticed this...

Epic fail soldering stainless flanges, can it be salvaged?

Thanks for the offer. With this being right in the middle of the oil/gas patch, welders are paid premiums. My initial plan was to have someone tig weld the weld in flanges, that was until I started pricing it. Most places wanted $100 per flange, cheapest was a restaurant supply/repair shop...

Epic fail soldering stainless flanges, can it be salvaged?

My other system is a 16gal kettle and brew boss. I am downsizing to a 10 gal kettle and built a Ardbir (braumeister clone) controller. This system previously had the weldless hot pods. I wanted the ability to take the hot pods off for cleaning and storage.
