Nice. I don’t have any kegs larger than. Sixtel so I’m aiming to be at 5-5.25 gallons. The freestyle riwaka my buddy has is great, I think you’ll really dig it

    Bottle conditioning lagers

I know this thread is graduating high school but I don’t know why the op wouldn’t bottle after a month in primary and store the bottles at lagering temp, that would essentially be lagering. In my kegs. I always carbonate my kegs and then leave in the kegerator to lager

    PPR Fantasy Football

I don’t play with any of you and only doing one league this year as life is busy and can’t manage as many as I used to but pretty pumped with my starters in my 12 team or league. Let’s hope the giants defense is as improved as I think they are. You can tell from my roster I’m expecting a big...

    What are you drinking now?

Round 2…. Fidens and Wayward Lanes collab. Wayward has been killing the past 3 years in both nation and nys commercial competition being named best NY brewery 2 of the 3 years. Love seeing them use Columbus and it comes through with a great dankness in the finish

    Hoppy black lager

It actually finished 1.012 I believe. That said I mashed high to keep some body and prevent the rice solids from having it dry it out too much

    New Hop Bong

I don’t know this for sure, but is the brass nut the PRV? I have a few pieces of equipment where you loosen a nut/screw of sorts and it allows the air to escape. The person who will be able to tell you how it works exactly is @Bobby_M as he owns BrewHardware

    Home made gruit

@BrewMan13 hands down makes the best gruits I’ve ever had. Maybe he’ll chime in

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Def didn’t read that haha I have thread adhd. I see someone post about combos and ratios and look at all the hops they list and my brain goes to town lol Sorry @kurds_2408 lol. If you’re pretty set on Motueka and riwaka then you almost need to go with citra. All nz hops have the “nz flavor”...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

If you’ve never done Rakau, Citra, Nelson before, I highly suggest it. One of my favorites. Citra and rakau whirlpool 1:1. Citra, Rakau, Nelson dryhop 1:2:1 Whirlpool rate 1 oz per gallon split between the hops Dryhop 2.5oz per gallon between the hops. If the amounts get wonky weight wise...

Brewing Rut, how do you deal?

If that were true I’d need a EpiPen by now lol. I think it’s something like 70 of the US beer market is heavy hopped beers. Between that and the sheer number of individuals that work in the industry in agriculture, processing and beer making, there would have to be data at this point

Brewing Rut, how do you deal?

I’ve been burnt out on brewing hoppy beers this past year. I just feel like they haven’t come out their best and it annoys me. People who try them still think they’re great but I’ve been very “Meh” about them. I think it’s palate fatigue on heavily hopped beers because even great commercial ipas...

    Another question on water chemistry

Bru’n water spreadsheet. Spot on with ph and ppms, especially when using RO water

    Another question on water chemistry

Correct on the assuming your pretty much have zero alkalinity. I don’t worry about the alkalinity much at all because when you target your ph, the acid will counteract that anyway (my base water starts at 124ppm of alkalinity). The only time I’d worry if I was above 180ppm, then I’d probably...

    Caramunich in a marzen?

I’ll def report back. I ended up going with this recipe yesterday but dropped to one decoction and only did 2 steps in the mash to try to prevent too much perceived sweetness
