Three Floyd's Gumball Head Extract Clone?

I wish I could. My computer crashed after I made it. I had all the info on beersmith. Since I had to reload everything, I do not have the OG or FG. I remember it was close to the estimates by beersmith. I have not re-entered the recipe yet but if you need the beersmith estimates let me know...

Three Floyd's Gumball Head Extract Clone?

I am glad I could help. I am going to brew another batch here soon also. Right now I have a Pete's Wicked Ale clone on tap and I want to do a Vienna Lager next but think another batch of Gumballhead is on the way.

Looking for a cheaper price on bulk DME

It also takes more lb of LME than DME to reach the same gravity. There are conversions but a good rule of thumb is that 1lb of DME will give you the same gravity as 1.25lb of LME. Of course this depends a little bit on the malt manufacturer and how many ppg each type of malt is rated...

Three Floyd's Gumball Head Extract Clone?

The recipe I posted is for a 5 gallon batch. I do full boils so I start with around 6.25 gallons for a 60m boil. I use Beersmith for my recipes so if you need the first one converted still let me know. It does the conversions from AG to Extract for me and lets me know my initial volume...

Looking for a cheaper price on bulk DME

I know North Country Malt still sells to homebrew clubs if the club has ordered from them before. I cannot attest to shipping because I live an hour away from Chicago but they do sell a 50# bag of DME for $70. I know this doesn't work for everyone but if you are in the area maybe look for a...

Three Floyd's Gumball Head Extract Clone?

I live in South Bend and am able to get 3 Floyds anytime. I have used the following clone extract recipe and it is really good. 6lb Wheat Dry Extract 1lb Pale Malt 1lb Torrified Wheat 1oz Amarillo Gold (60m) 1oz Amarillo Gold (30m) 1oz Amarillo Gold (5m) 1oz Amarillo Gold (Dry Hop)...

    GFCI question

Well the point was to have an alarm to know something was wrong but now that I think about it the alarm would be switched to the timer during the boil. doh!! Thanks guys. :drunk:

    GFCI question

That would be the only way of the box. I was thinking that a situation like that would trip the breaker though, wouldn't it? Guess I didn't say anything about that, but the panel is being hooked up to a dedicated 30amp breaker in my fuse panel. From what I have read about GFCI's, they do not...

    GFCI question

I posted originally about the Leviton GFCI. I have since received mine and beginning to wire my control panel. Originally I was going to wire the GFCI so it cut power to the entire panel if it tripped. However, since then I am thinking of only cutting power to the heater element. This way I...

    GFCI cheap

Hell yes milldoggy :ban: You should try 440. I got bit by that in while in the Navy. I was tingling for days. :cross:

    GFCI cheap

Please don't misunderstand, I am all about including a GFCI. Just trying to help others understand the view of the electricians that Earthbound spoke about. I personally don't wish to be bit by 120v or 240v. Hurts either way.

    GFCI cheap

Walker in our world 220v is not that big of a deal. To put things in perspective we generate electricity at about 20 kv and transmit at 220 kv. Our lowest voltage that is used for our equipment is 440v. There are 220v and 110v outlets around for welders and tools. Getting zapped by 220v does...

    GFCI cheap

Oh heck yeah it is. I have been able to get over half my stuff from there. Everything from over 30ft of 10ga wire in every color, all the switches I could ever need, and countless stainless fittings. That doesn't even account for the tools available for use. :mug:

    GFCI cheap

I haven't been here that long Walker. I only moved here 5 years ago. Sounds like a cool box though. Earthbound I have heard the same thing from electricians at work too. I work at a power plant so we have nothing but licensed professional electricians. However, they said it wouldn't...

    GFCI cheap

I recieved mine this weekend and you are right Walk, it must be used with a relay. DO NOT go by the item description. It is some guy that got them at an auction or something and is trying to make money. If ya need to see how to use one, check this out...

    GFCI cheap

Used by itself the GFCI is only rated at 20a and 120v. Since most of use will be using it with a 240v system, it requires a contactor relay which when used together, it can be rated up to 80a depending on the relay used. I personally ordered a 30a contactor relay since that is what everything...

    GFCI cheap

Just an update. I received my main power contact relay today. It was listed as new on eBay but is not even close. It has bluing on the contacts, screws missing, etc. First I was highly upset but then figured it could be an opportunity. Point of the story is I found a 240v relay 120v coil...

    GFCI cheap

I am waiting for mine to get here so I can test it. Although I am not sure how I am going to time less than a second. I am having bungs welded on my kettle for the heater element so I am not really worried about some of the problems that haunt heatsticks. I am adding the GFCI to my cabinet...

    GFCI cheap

While the seller and his write-up may be a little corny, Leviton itself is a reputable company and if you look at the pictures of the instructions they provide a diagram of how to wire it to a relay. Any relay with a 120v coil should work with the GFCI. If this doesn't work and I don't see why...

If I do it again ... forget the AMP and Volt Meters!

Glad I decided not to include these. Although they are definitely cool, I couldn't justify the extra cost for something that isn't needed.
