    Low bucks motorized grain mill

No the picture is of one from amazon with nearly the same specs (the 12V rail specs are the same) as one a friend has laying around that I could get for free. I'll probably look around at cheapo used places like goodwill for a single rail model, but pick that one up as well to test.

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

Yeah that seems like it would make logical sense. Also found the answer to my question, from what I found reading up on the subject online it seems that one shouldn't combine power sources of differing amperages. Guess I'll just have to look around more for a single rail ATX supply.

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

Thanks J Hanna, I followed the mechanical aspects of the build just fine, and the pictures helped, it was the ATX wiring that I was unclear on that Spellman covered above. I was unaware that he had ditched the reverse control and speed controller, though I didn't think I would need them either...

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

Hey Spellman or J Hanna, any chance you can put together a single post of all the details for others (like myself) to build this. showing how you did the wiring and such for those like me that are less than electrically inclined. I am going to order the car seat motor from AS&S and the lovejoy...

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

Thought about this but it wouldn't be big enough to connect both ends and still have room for hands. I doubt it would rip it in half, worst case it would rip out the bolt fittings, pretty sure if they can take the weight on the supplied stands they should be able to take the same weight with...

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

Has anyone attached handles to their fastferment? I was thinking carrying handles attached where the mounting bolts go would make it easier to move from where we brew to where we ferment. Anyone have any ideas of any handles that would be usable for this that could be mounted with the mounting...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Should be interesting to see what Microsoft does for it with win 10, not to hate on all the Linux guys who have done amazing work on this project, but for those of us who are PC guys this may be a nice solution. Though, I would assume there may be a need to stay with Linux for the Alamode...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

From your photo it looks as though you have the usb power plugged into the pi, instead of the alamode. That was my first issue with not getting pours to work, got so caught up in getting it setup that I accidentally plugged it into the wrong one, switched it over and all works like a charm.

Best commercial beer bottles for homebrew

Though not widely available, I find New Glarus bottles to work great. They seem like they are a heavier (thicker) glass likely because they brew several sours and use the same bottles.

Guess I wont be Brewing anything soon...

Oh man that sucks. These are the reasons I moved out of the city to the burbs, not that that couldnt happen here in brookfield, but that in milwaukee thats going to take a while to be fixed. Good luck to you though, hopefully no or not much property damage for you.

    Bottling cleaning question

I always rinse them 3-4 times after pouring, with hot water, and store in closed boxes. Then the night before bottling day I run them through my dishwasher with no detergent on the hottest setting which for me is sanitize. Then starsan and bottle tree day of, before filling.

    Storing Star San in Bottles?

I would think this really depends on how long before hand you plan to do this. As the residual starsan sits the active ingrediant will lose effectivness, and the air in the bottles from dumping the starsan out would contain the same contaminants that it did before, less what settles to the...

    Am I mashing incorrectly?

Why not call the lhbs before going there and see if they have a hydrometer in stock and/or can order you one and hold it for you.

Please Share Your Priming Sugar Method

I dont even cool the priming solution. I mix corn sugar (amount based on style) with heating water in pot, boil for a few minutes. Dump that into clean & sanitised botteling bucket and rack into it making sure it mixes well while racking without splashing. Never have had a problem using hot...

Perlick 630ss tap part too loose?

I just hooked up two 630ss's the other day and noticed that aswell, though it didnt affect the pours at all, and doesn't leak at all. Would be curious to know if amyone has more knowlegde in this matter to share though.

This came out of my dip tube.

Yes in fact I do. I'm guessing it was a used or borrowed keg. That said those are epoxy mixers, food safe hdpe, used to add drag on the beer as it exits the keg so you can use less beer line to the tap and higher co2 levels.
