Extract kit for Christmas: what to do?

Thanks for tips! Once I started this thread, I've gotten excited. Haven't brewed since late October! I think this extract will be a great snow day project. Plus, extract will be a great introduction to brewing for my newborn son! Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Extract kit for Christmas: what to do?

Lol, I got plenty of fermenters, I just need to get over myself. I looked at instructions this morning. Very vague. It's a kit from lhbs with their instructions. It does not give water amount for boil. It basically says, heat to 170, add extract, boil, add hops, top off with cold water to 5...

Brooklyn Brew Shop Everyday IPA Kit Tips

Ive been brewing just a year now and love the BBS recipes. So far, everyone has tasted great! Plus, they are easy to modify and make your own! I've never transferred to secondary because I don't want to risk infection and it's a pain! Most of the time people transfer to have a more clear beer...

Extract kit for Christmas: what to do?

My brother in law gave me a DM extract kit for Christmas. Sierra Nevada IPA clone. I've never done extract since I started off AG. I really don't want to occupy a fermenter with an extract since I have AG I can do. Could I make the kit but only use 1/2 the water and make it an "imperial IPA"?

    Birthday Barleywine Project

Start AG with an IPA . Quick, easy, and tasty. BW takes time and is expensive. Me and a brew pal did one back in May of 2013. Ten gal cost something like 150$. Grain, vanilla beans soaked in vodka, wood chips soaked in whiskey, yeast, not to mention the 9 month wait to bottle and an occupied...

    Citra ipa

If you dry hop, do it just 3 to five days before you bottle. I love Citra hops and make a good, all Citra IPA. I've noticed when I dry hop with it, I need to let it bottle condition a bit longer than normal. Otherwise, beer taste a bit grassy. At least that's my exp

    Beer carbination?

Yes. I usually put aside 3 beers each batch to try every 5 to 7 days just so I can taste the changes it makes.

    Everything Brooklyn Brewshop

Yeah- I don't transfer to secondary, so, it gives it time to clear a bit, plus, I know it will most likely be fermented out...... Plus I hate botteling!!!

    Everything Brooklyn Brewshop

That is odd..... Are there pumpkin chunks in the bucket or were they added during boil? I'll keep the apricots in there until I bottle..... So, mid November .
