    What did I cook this weekend.....

    Poke (Hawaiian raw fish salad, pronounced by locals as "paw-key") - sashimi-grade tuna, wakame (sea weed), shallots (God! I miss the REAL Maui onions), tomatoes and spring onions - seasoned with a concoction of lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil and a bit of mirin (Japanese cooking wine).

    Comfort food.... soba noodles with sliced smoked duck breast.

    Got inspired by some of the delicious-looking chilli here and also decided to give it a go. So - chilli with mango salsa on the side, served with a Belgian tripel.

    Awesome looking chili! :mug: I take it that it is Texas-style - hence, no beans? Love the idea of mixing in a bit of ground pork and sausages.

    Oven-baked Porcini risotto topped with toasted pine nuts; came out absolutely delectable :rockin: In my view, a secret to a great risotto is to use genuine Italian Arborio rice - makes a world of difference.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! :mug: We don't do Thanksgiving around here, so had sauteed veggie with shrimp served on top of brown rice.
