    Introduction

Hi all, I already posted a couple times to ask about my first brew which is now fermenting but realized I never introduced myself. I'm in North Jersey (don't seem to be any good brew stores around here) but go to school in Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley area. I'm very excited about picking...

    First brew in fermenter

To be honest I have no idea haha. This is my first one so I'm trying to get the whole procedure down with a kit first so I didn't have to worry about ingredients. I'm going to start looking into ingredients more for my next one. I got the temp down to like 72 now though so I'm off to bed and...

    First brew in fermenter

It is in a swamp cooler now with frozen water bottles and wet towel with fan. The temperature is not registering on the fermometer yet (it maxes at 78F) but its definitely lower than 90, my guess would be low 80's but that's a bit of a stab in the dark

    First brew in fermenter

I finally got my first batch boiled and in the fermenter (plastic bucket) tonight. It's a True Brew American Wheat beer kit. My only problem was that I really underestimated how hard the wort was to cool and it ended up taking probably at least an hour if not more and I pitched the yeast at...

Hey so I am about to start my first brew within the next few days (I'll be making an American Wheat using the True Brew ingredient kit) and have a bunch of super newbie questions. I apologize if these have been answered on here before as many probably have but please bear with me... 1) First...

    Nu Foam Sanitizing Tablets?

Well the way it's done (at least at our bar) is that we wash them in one sink with regular dish detergent and brushes (to clean), rinse them in a second sink of water to get out the soap, and then dip them in a third sink with the nu foam (to sanitize) and let them air dry without another rinse...

    Nu Foam Sanitizing Tablets?

Best I could find for active ingredient was: "Alkyl (95%C14, 3%C12, 2%C16) dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride dihydrate" Don't know if that helps, I don't have the bottle with me right now

    Nu Foam Sanitizing Tablets?

So I am very new to brewing, haven't even made my first one yet but have been reading up. I got a container of B-Brite with my equipment kit but there's clearly some controversy as to whether that can be used as a sanitizer or not. Well I don't really feel like ordering and waiting for Starsan...
