    Problems with bayou burner

I have the exact same burner and had this issue when I first used it. For me, it happens when the propane tank gets really cold and starts getting a lot of ice on it. The first time I was able to just periodically shake the tank to get a little more heat out of the burner. Now, I just use one...

New Belgium donation at Total Wine

I'm not a huge fan of New Belgium, but those are definitely my favorite beer glasses!

    Student Survey

This is completely unrelated to homebrewing but maybe you'll be willing to help a student and fellow homebrewer out. I'm taking a marketing class and I have a survey about AMC movie theaters. If you could help me out I would appreciate it. It shouldn't take more than a couple minutes...

NB Chinook IPA extract kit fermentation ques

Don't use your bottling bucket for a fermentation chamber. Just use your carboy as your primary. There is no real need to ever do a secondary so just dry hop in your primary.

Avery "Rumpkin" ale, oh my . . .

I picked up a few bottles today. Pretty good! Not sure it's worth the price but I did enjoy it. I was surprised how much the rum flavor came through. Also, the bottle lists the ABV at 15.9%!

    Post Great American Beer Festival

If you want to avoid the BS the Saturday afternoon members only session is a good one to go to (Saturday evening is probably the worst). It's pretty cool because you get to meet a lot of the brewmasters and owners at that one. Overall, I think the pros to going to the GABF far outweigh any...

Corny Keg spraying out the picnic tap

The keg pressure can definitely be the problem. My picnic taps can hand 30psi fyi.

Corny Keg spraying out the picnic tap

I had the same problem and I replaced the end piece of the tap and it worked fine. I think some just have a faulty spring or something. It's not the ideal answer to your problem but it worked for me.

Ever just have a bad feeling about a brew?

I top all my beers off with tap water so I wouldn't worry too much about that part.

    Most underrated beer

I agree with you. I love that beer, although I'm a little biased living in Boulder.

    My first Pliny the Elder

When I did it, I just whirlpooled a little bit (I wasn't too concerned) and then cold crashed before I kegged it to get rid of the dry hop. Seemed to work well for me.

    My first Pliny the Elder

Here's a good article too. http://486286.cache1.evolutionhosting.com/attachments/0000/6351/doubleIPA.pdf The end of the article he talks about the younger too and how it has Amarillo in it. I brewed the recipe and added Amarillo every time there was a simcoe addition. Turneded out awesome!
