    Sanke Keg Washer build

That's gonna be one hell of a contraption when you're done. Awesome! Cheers!

That's pretty awesome. How are you heating the cleaning solution?

I'm never truly happy with my homebrew

I am my own worst critic, though sometimes I get overly optimistic about the beer. I've won some awards and made some complete flops, the best part is the process and satisfaction that I brewed it.

    Florida Hops experiment

Mine are about 3ft high now. I think the cold snaps slowed them down a bit. Also I seem to be getting some brown spots on the leaves. I think they were too dry. I now water them with 2 gallons every morning and once a week throw in some fish emulsification. Mine are in pots, about 15 gallons ea...

My first home brew DIY projects

Those zip ties might melt and break in the boil. I'd take off the ones that aren't near the top. Other than that, very impressive!

Do you enjoy brewing more than drinking?

I drink about 6-8 beers a week. Not always my own. I give away 90% of my brew for parties and such.

    Twang taste in all grain

Water make up, ingredient freshness, or fermentation temp would be my best guess.

Options for a 59 gallon barrel stand

Most breweries I see have their big barrels on steel stackable shelves. I would use some heftier lumber and make a cradle with at least 2" thickness by 8" height on the front and back faces. Match the contour of the barrel with the front face and rear face cuts. Look at some of the small barrel...

Growing Hops In Florida Tampa Area

I'm in the brandon area and I have columbus and tea maker growing in the front yard. Put some sheets over them the other night and they are doing fine.

What replaced the Sanyo 4912 Mini Fridge?

The Igloo FR465 will not fit 2 pin lock kegs without some serious modification. My thread is somewhere on here, but I had to cut out a big chunk from the rear shelf, cut away the shelf holders on the sides, insert a metal plate, then back fill with great stuff using a keg as a form. Then I...

    Integrated Kitchen Brewery/Keezer build

Is there a thread on how to make those bottle lamps? I just saw the bottle cutter. Cut off bottom, insert lamp, plug in. I was thinking the bottoms were still on somehow.

    Hunahpu's Day

My club will have a tent out there. I should be manning it.

homebrew taste........(where does it come from!)

I think the homebrew "twang" is mostly from ingredient freshness (lack there of) and oxidation. All of the other common mistakes cause other off flavors that make for terrible beer.

    Sanke Keg Washer build

So long as the clean cycle switch over doesn't contaminate the sanitation cycle I guess you are fine.

    Sanke Keg Washer build

Don't you need a rinse cycle between the clean and sanitize?

    March pump wiring to switch/outlet

Simple way to switch it is by using a GFI strip and using the strip power as the switch.

Suggestions for a mini fridge to hold two 1/4 barrels?

Most likely going to have to find an actual kegerator fridge for that. Check craigslist or get ready to shell out $400+

Conical Use Question/Advice: Drop Yeast or No

How easy is it going to dump. When you close the airlock off and open the valve on the bottom you will create a vacuum if anything comes out. My guess is that you need a gas valve on the top where you can put some low pressure CO2 into the fermentor and help the yeast come out. Or you can...
